the same thing happened to me! i noticed there wasnt any sound, then tried to pull out the detachable cable, but the plastic part attached to the ear piece came out with it! first if i shoved it back in, i could still get sound. then the entire thing fell off.
does anyone know how to open up the ear piece part so i can try to reattach it?

It is a very fiddly job and would need some very fine soldering even if you could open it without damage as it is very likely sealed !
Best option is to bite the bullet and get a new pair..
Preferably a different make !
