Using a pc keyboard on mac

I'm working on Mac OS X 10.5.8 and I'm using a logitech ultra flat keyboard. I've figured out most the key differences but I want to reconfigure some of the keys (I like changing the volume with the keyboard and I can't do that at the moment). Tips?

You can easily assign a keyboard into a new language and also reassign keys for volume etc. as you wish to. I', assuming you mean the 'F' keys at the top.
Go to Apple Menu/System Preferences/Keyboard & Mouse. You'll see all of the preadded shortcuts there. Press + and you can add your own.
FYI, here's a list of some of teh other standard ones:

I bought an old Mac Mini Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB Hard Drive, OS X Yosemite, with serial # C07CS2TPDD6H. What adapter cord could I use to connect it to an iBox C1752, TFT LCD Monitor?

That Mac has a hdmi port and a mini display port. The monitor has a saga port. So ether a hdmi-svga. Or miniDisplay port-svga.

Any usb keyboard will work. So any Mac keyboard newer than 12 years should be good, and newer pic keyboards will work. Beware of older keyboards that have round plugs. On macs these were ADB ports. On PC's, they used PS2 (ADB, ps2, usb are all different, you want the flat rectangle USB)

U.S. pc keyboards also have two modifier keys wired different than the U.S. Mac keyboards, but this can be adjusted in the system preferences. Can't say for non U.S. KBs. They are the windows/alt keys. Vs Opt/Command keys. That is, if you are soused to using a Mac, the key that is closest to the spacebar (command key) is applied by the second key over rather than the first. Again, this can be modified in the Sys Prefs.

No microsoft keyboard detected

There are a whole slew of things, to try, and you might have done them already. First, which operating system are you running?

Now on for the tests:
1. Do both left and right USB ports work? Try other devices like flash thumb drives, do both left and right work, by this can you read and write to them when they are connected directly to the ports, no hub.
2. Have you tried both ports directly with the keyboard? Again, if you are using a hub, take it out and connect directly.
3. Did this work before on an older OS X? What about on a Windows PC, does it work on other computers?
4. Load the App Store and see if there is a new driver for the keyboard.
5. If App Store doesn't have a driver for the keyboard, have you tried directly with Microsoft to get the Mac driver (this is not always possible, but you might want to try to see if Microsoft has a OS X driver.
6. If you must use a hub, please test without it first, but if that is the source of the problem, then you might need to get a powered hub. I never use other than powered hubs as I don't want to tax my ports that much.
7. I suppose someone should ask, but why do you need an additional keyboard (Microsoft or otherwise)? "I just prefer it" is an acceptable answer. My personal preference is for the Mac built in keyboard or one to the other wired keyboard or Bluetooth keyboard. I also have a Logitech wireless and another wired one and they both work. If you are using Fusion/Parallels/Boot Camp to run Windows on your Mac, please note that command works as the Windows key.
8. With keyboard plugged in reboot.
9. Reboot, login and wait a bit, then plug in the keyboard. This will cause an interrupt and may cause it to download the driver.

FYI, I just checked Microsoft and they do have a driver for OS X at: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/natural-ergonomic-keyboard-4000 but it seems to have stopped at Lion (10.7) but you might want to try it anyway. But this is why we also need to know which OS X version you are running. If you are still on Lion, then you should be in luck with the Microsoft driver for OS X.

Mac too loud

Did Logitech provide any software with the keyboard? Make sure you have the most recent version of any Mac software for this model of keyboard.

It's possible that 10.2.8 may not have all the right hooks in it to fully support a recent model Logitech keyboard. But my Apple-brand keyboard has volume control buttons on it that have worked since time immemorial, so I'd think 10.2.8 understands the basic concept.

I hope it's just a matter of getting the right software.

What model keyboard and Mac do you have?

Mac OS 10.4 or Above

To use a Logitech camera on your Mac OS X computer, please purchase a Logitech camera that is UVC compliant, this camera will have basic functionality for use with a third party application but no additional features will be available such as (Rightlight, Rightsound or Video Effects)

All UVC Complaint Webcams listed in table below

This article applies to the following platforms:
Macintosh OS X 10.4.9 - 10.5.2

The Logitech webcams listed below are UVC (Universal Video Class) compliant and can be used with operating systems which fully support this standard; including Mac OS 10.4.9 and above.

Please note that standard UVC drivers are provided by the Operating System and will provide minimal camera support only. Unique Logitech features, such as RightLight and Video Effects are not functional via UVC drivers.

Furthermore, we recommend the use of a full Logitech installation package, where available, for supported operating systems such as Windows XP and Windows Vista.
