Question about Sony Xplod CD Player w/MP3 Playback CDX-GT50W
I installed an after market cd player in my 1997 chrysler concorde. All wires from the harness to the deck are connected correctly. When I turn the cd player on, the speakers in the front doors don't work. And the sound comming from the dash speakers and the rear 6x9's sound like ****. There is no bass in the sound and they are distorted. What did I do wrong?

the amp will work but it is a dog thing to do cause you will need to find a wire harness to fit the 2000 and be able to trace down the wires of the amp to match them up with the 2000... if you have a lot of time then it will take you some time to do... if you dont have a lot of time, goto a local radio shop and pick up an amp from there or a walmart, kmart, radio shack. it will save you the trouble of trying to figure out all the stuff... it is cheaper to just get a new amp....

Does your car have a premium sound system? Assuming that your cd deck is fine, try connecting your remote turn on wire from the sony to the corresponding wire on the car(if you bought a wiring harness, just match colors). Also some chryslers used a ground to turn on the amps.. a black wire with a female connector as well as a heavy ground ribbon cable... connect those 2 AND the ground to your stereo to enable the amplifiers.

change the fuse behind the system.
"so he hooked it up to the left front speaker wire, then found the remote turn on wire and hooked it up to it." will have burned the sound system or not. remove the new installation, test it, reinstall, test again.
