Question about Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Console

Charging a PSP

My PSP will not charge from the mains or run off the mains when plugged in. I have to charge the battery in another PSP and then it will power up and run off that battery until it runs out and I have to re-charge it from another PSP again. How can i resolve this so it works properly?

Re: Charging a PSP

Sounds like it could be the mains/charger of the psp, have u tried using it on the other psp? If that dont work then it may be the power charging unit of the psp itself, u may have to call Sony and have it replaced
Hope it helps

How do i charge my psp battery

Plug the charger into the wall. Plug the other end into the spot on the PSP with the yellow outline. Check for an orange light. If it's on, let it charge until the light turns off. It it's not on check connection. If it's still no charging, take out the battery and put it back in. If it's still not charging remove the battery and try to turn it on. If it will no start, your PSP is bricked.

My psp will nt charge or turn on it has been in myy locker for a while now when i plug it into my ps3 it will not charge

Try keeping your psp battery in a dry place for a day, then try charging. If this doesn't work..
Try the following:
a) Try charging using a usb cable...
c)Also try cleaning the usb port and power port or the place were u connect the charger to psp...
b) Remove ur psp battery and plug in the charger and turn on the psp... When it turns on put the battery back in (do not turn off the switch or psp when u put the battery back in)...

My psp 1001 is not charging. i plugged it in the socket when the power generator at my home was running and the psp stopped charging after the generator stopped and power shifted to the mains.

hello, try charging it threw the USB port and see if that works, if it does, then you know that the psp isnt the problem. It can be your charger or you may need to replace your battery.

Psp doesn't charge or open at all, nor any indicative signs

I would think that would be battery problem. Did you buy the PSP new or used?
If used I would buy a new battery and try that. If new reurn it or send it back to sony.

Brand new psp battery will not charge

Did you charge it first? You need a good initial charge. Depending on the charger, it could be about 6 hours.

Also, remove the battery and check the metal contacts on the top and make sure that they are not covered by anything. Some come with a film to protect them.

Psp 2006 battery

You don't have a problem; the seller is an idiot. Leave it plugged in for good measure, but your PSP is fine.

Many products ship with a completely discharged battery (many cellphones, for instance) and they must charge for a long time. PSPs don't; they ship with a partially charged battery.
