Question about Nu Mark Numark Cdx Table Top CD Player CD Player
I got a problem with a Numark CDX player. It will play all CD's and MP3's. However, when it comes to firmware update it fails, and while using same drive with Serato, it produces "garbling" sound and slows and speeds up tracks sporadically.
At first, I thought it would be a CD drive, but after swapping them with my other CDX player, that same player keeps having same problem even with CD drives swapped.
So the problem lies within player itself. (thats my guess anyways)
If you have similar issues or know how to solve it, please post.
p.s. Stay away from Numark untill they learn to produce quality products. Not first time I had problems with it, or knew people that did.
I personally, have already sent it to Numark for repairs before.
C'mon Numark, its getting kinda old. NO I don't have time to wait for my player to be fixed (and charged), and YES I paid my money because I expected a quality product. Hope you take notice and prove yourself as a reliable company that I once thought you were. Untill then I will stay away from your products as much as I possibly could. It is only fair in my humble opinion.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

hello, there should 4 little black screws on the top of the cd tray when it is removed from the deck. two of them are on the rear top in black plastic. the other two are holding the silver plate down as well. remove those four screws. the top should slide off. after that is off, you should be able to see how the disc is being secured. careful not to pry any thing it should all come apart. good luck.

its basically cleaning the optical lens, but thats so technical and risky to uncover the mixer and clean the lens manually, use cd cleaner locally available in electronic store..

Have you tried downloading the most recent rom update for the CDN-90? All you need to do is download it from here http://www.numark.com/contentmgr/showdetails.php/id/1493/tt/5 , then burn the download to disc. Once that's done, put the disc into the player, switch the player off and wait 10 seconds, then switch it back on again. the player will read the disc and flash the ROM. this should reset the player for you. Before you ask, you can out the disc into either side of the player. Full instructions are given with the download.
