One OR two chips will work, mix or match; however,
Don't mix different "speed" chips.

If all three chips are the same speed/type, PC2-5300? Then you can use the 2GB AND the 512MB together (1.5GB total).

Hope this helps!

Let me clarify ... if you mix different speed chips, then all of the chips will run at the slower speed of the set.

    So you may not want to mix if the 512MB is the slower speed;

If the 512MB is the same or faster, then mixing is ok.

Acer ax3400g does not boot and light blinks twice

Either your memory, lcd monitor or the video card is bad.

Check the Memory by steps below:

Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.
I'm thinking that it might be your monitor because if the monitor was working and the video card was bad, you would get a No Signal message appearing on your screen.
Try another monitor on the computer. Borrow a monitor from a friend, family member, neighbor or co-worker and see if it works. If it does then your monitor needs to be replaced. If it does not work, then you've got a video card issue.

Check Video Card below:
If nothing ever posts to the screen then more than likely your video card is bad. Go purchase a Video Card that will fit into one of your open PCI Slots.

How to install xp on acer aspire m5641? always bsod

Maybe the operating system disk you have is bad if it remains on 0%.

I think the AHCI is a problem are you sure it can't be changed?

Remove the power cord, Remove the cover then remove the cmos battery from the motherboard. It is a shiny looking battery about the size of a nickel. You will need a flat head screw driver to pop it out. Let it sit out for about 30 minutes. Press and hold the Power Button without the power cord or cmos battery for about 30 seconds. The plug the power cord back in and try going into the bios and see if you can change the AHCI. If not just try loading the operating system without the cmos battery.

If if fails again, put the cmos battery back in. I think maybe one of your memory chips is bad or one of your memory slots is bad. Try using just one of the chips in the Dimm 1 or Dimm A slot, the first slot. Retry loading the operating system and if it fails, try the other memory chip in the slot.

Keeps beeping when on

Beeps and blinking lights tell the technician what is wrong with the computer. Count the beeps and the pattern of the beeps (3 long beeps, 1 long beep followed by 2 short beeps, etc).

Most times it's something related to the motherboard such as memory or video card.

Did you see anything post on the screen during the boot process?

Check your memory.

Why my acer projector wont flash and shows just blue blink on its power botton

I'm not understanding what it is you are trying to say,it sounds like you are trying to describe two problems.

Projector won't flash? Are you saying nothing displays on the Screen?

And what just shows blue blink on it's power button the computer?

Blinks and Beeps tell the technician what is wrong with your system. Notice how many times it blinks and where the blinks are long or short. There is a pattern to to blinks for example (3 short blinks or 1 long blink followed by 2 short blinks).

I'm going to assume your system has a memory chip problem and when you press the power button it just blinks and nothing ever happens, not posting on the lcd screen at all.

Remove the Power Cord, Remove the Battery, Turn the laptop over and Remove the screw that secures the Memory Cover and remove one of thememory chips.

How do i change the memory from 1 gb to 2 gb ? I

if you look at the sides of the chip there are two small notches in the material
There are also two spring steel clips which locate in those notches

Make sure that the power lead is out and the battery is disconnected
also that you touch the metal case of the laptop before you handle the chips or use a wrist earth strap

To release the original chip use your fingernails to gently ease the clips away from the notches the chip will then spring up and can be lifted out.

Make sure that you note where the cut out is on bottom of the chip when you remove it.

Put the new chip in so that the cut out is in the same place as the original press down and forward and the chip will enter the connector and the side clips will re-engage

How do I add more RAM memory

It is easy to add more RAM to the laptop, the first thing you need to know is the type of memory you model uses. Your model uses DDR2@533MHz up to 2 GB RAM (2 chips 1 GB each).
PLACE THE LAPTOP UPSIDE DOWN ON A SOFT CLOTH. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T MISPLACE THE SCREWS.
1. Remove the larger cover in the back of the laptop (2 screws) ; the memory chips are under this cover.
2. Replace the chip(s) with larger capacity chip(s).
3. Put the cover back (using the 2 screws you safely removed in step 1). Thats it!
