That small tube is the vent verification hose. Air passing over an oriface creates a vacuum. This negative reading, usually about -0.4 inches of water column is enough to trigger a vaccum diaphram switch telling the unit there is enough air flow through the unit to support combustion and remove byproducts safely

Fixed my own problem. Found the owners manual on line. 99 means flue clogged. I took off a panel and found that a small tube, maybe a sensor of some \kind, had come off the duct going to the vent. After reattaching this tube it works fine.

It's hard to answer your question without the age and brand of your heater but the blinking of the red light can be a heartbeat, which indicates all systems are ok and there is power or the blinking is like 2 blinks, pause, and 2 blinks, pause repeating. That would indicate a failure code. In that case Google the model and serial number to get the failure code.

Goodman furnace GMP075-3 The thermostat was in the off position over night and sometime during the night, the induced blower and blower motor came on. The trouble light on board blinks 5 times. I checked...

Need your model # to check the codes but, this coming back on after turning the t-stat off is rare. You may have been in a lockout and the furnace re-started. Some furnaces try to start three times , then lock out. Time out, then re-start. The codes should be on your furnace blower door. Write back with this info and i could help.

My furnace stopped working. It'd start up shut down start up shut down all in the matter of seconds. Then would fire up and work. it did this maybe once every couple days then it stopped all together. ...

Replace pressure switch. If you blow any air into the pressure switch it has been damaged, check air ports for debris by looking never ,never blow on air switch they work on a very small pressure or vaccum, where your breath is to much pressure and also loaded with unwanted humidity.

Lennox furnace 17 yeanrs old. flame comes on and the shuts down sometimes right away some times in a few minutes. We have the furnace go down to 58 at night. It takes all day to get back to 67.

Sounds like a dirty flame sensor.
Also 9 degrees is a large swing to recover. Most specialist will advise no more than a 5 degree set back, otherwise recovery time eliminates any savings you may achieve.

Room temp is not where it should be before furnace shuts down

Did the installer check the amperage at your thermostat and then adjust the heat anticipator? Or you may need to have the blower time settings changed to suite your needs. Get them back in to check.

My heater turns on the gas starts but then it shuts down

Try to locate the red and white wires either behind your thermostat or on the furnace itself. Jump them out and see if the furnace stays on. If you do it at the furnace you will need to hold the door switch down. If it runs fine, you have found your problem (the thermostat) if it goes out again, the furnace will display a number of blinks on the circuit board. Look on the reverse side of the furnace access door and there should be an Error Code chart to get you started figuring where to look next.

New 95% goodman keeps giving Code 1

Not having a model number to help you with, I can only give you generic info. Typically a flashing 1 represents that the furnace has exceeded its allowed attempts to start. Not much help. If I can suggest removing the access panel on the furnace and tape down the door safety switch. That being done, have a helper turn up the thermostat and you get your head inside the furnace cabinet and document what it does. It should first blink on the LED indicating a call for heat. Next the inducer blower should start up (the small blower hooked to the exhaust pipe). Next you may see an orange glow where the burner is. There should be a small clear port where you can watch this. Next some clicking should be heard from the gas valve. Then the orange glow should turn to a blue flame. This flame should travel all the way right and left igniting all the burners. Then it should stay on until the call for heat is satisfied.

After doing this and with your model number, get back to us and we may be able to pin-point your issue.
