Yes, I am working on a PC.
I am familiar with the marque/selection tools and the marching ants. I don't think I have used the "hide" command much.
Aside from the clone tool, there are several other tools that are non-functional. The Brush tool, the quick mask tool, the quick selection tool, the spot and healing brushes. the pencil tool, the history brush the eraser and the hand tool.

I have updated the program; I have checked the "Caps Lock", I have shut down the comp and started it again; I have opened the file and saved it as a tiff.
None of these have done much good. The only thing I haven't done is Remove and reinstall Photoshop. This is not the first time this has happened. I had my operating system re-installed recently and when I installed Photoshop it worked just fine for a short time.

I assume you are using Photoshop on a PC computer- are you familiar with the marque / selection tools that create areas bordered with "marching ants"- Also,  are you familiar with the "hide" command (ctrl-H) which hides the selection edges?

It has stopped "cocking" so

I thought mine stopped cocking, but it is actually the trigger that has cracked and is no longer disengaging the locking mechanism which frees the spring allowing it to force the dart out. It seems to be a bad design as the plastic used for the trigger is either too flimsy or too thin at that point. I haven't found replacement triggers yet.

Cloning a drive cant be done very easily manually, you have to replicate the MBR, the boot files to the start of the drive and copy the system files in the correct manor.

Notebook doesn't see new hdd

You can try upgrading the BIOS:|PSA60U

I don't know that's going to do it for you.

This software will allow you to backup and restore the BIOS, just in case, as well as give you another tool to try cloning the drive itself:

The problem is you may not have the correct hardware for dualview monitors.

You may need to change your display adaptor to one that supports dual view. Here is a link that contains a list of display adaptors that support dualview in Windows XP.;en-us;307397

2nd partition disk drive D: is not accessible

Several brands now have the recovery software and backup of your computer on the D: partition.

You probably have XP (Vista doesn't try to stop you from viewing the contents of the drive). I would recommend using a 3rd party explorer clone to move the music files back to the C: and leave that partition alone. Also if you have not made your recovery discs yet do so before messing with the recovery partition.

On an HP or Compaq the recovery disc manager can be found under HP or under PC Help & Tools in the start menu.
