This sounds the browser is loaded with junk.
If your using Window Internet Browser try going to "tools" then internet options. In the general tab you will be able to delete all the cookies, files, and history that may be causing the problem.
If your using FireFox go to tools and in that window there are simpler prompts. Usually the history in the browser is the culprit. Another soluton if that does not clear it up you might have a virus. If you do not have virus protection go to www.download.com and there may be able to find a spyware dector. We use SpyDoctor from PC tools. That program fixes most of our problems. PC tools also sells a great register cleaner. There is a remote chance that your system register is junked up. Register cleaner will put thing back in order by arranging all the little gismos where they belong. Hope some of this helps

It sounds like you have malware on your computer. One of the best ways to remove it is using a program from Malwarebytes.

You might need to download it from another computer first.

Maria, you have been infected with adware or other forms of malware. There are several products available to remove these problems. One will probably NOT be able to get rid of everything. It may take many hours with large amounts of frustration. An alternative, and probably the fastest and surest way to get it all is to format the hard drive and do a system restore. That is not rocket science but is the fastest way to achieve your goal. I hope that helps.

Facebook is webpage and can be accessed at any time, you might not have deleted facebook.

Redirection looks browser cache issue. Try following to clear browser cache
On IE7, try opening internet explorer, go to tools, click on options, on Browser History click on "Delete", and select all options, and click delete

Not sure of your browser link has cleanup method for all types of browser

I have a virus or spyware that has disabled Norton, and will not allow me to open Norton or scan using Norton. Additionally, unless I enter a direct URL, clicking on any link on any webpage will redirect...

There is a great tool called combofix that I have used to kill off several nasty viruses. This page has info on using the program and links to download it. You don't need to enter safe mode to run combofix.

Hi. I am assuming you are talking about the page that Internet Explorer goes to when you first open it. If that is the case, try this:

Windows Vista (all versions)

1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button getopencontent.aspx?assetid=4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33&documentset=en-us&renderkey=xml, and then clicking Internet Explorer.
2. Navigate to the webpage you would like to set as the home page.
3. Click the arrow to the right of the Home button getopencontent.aspx?assetid=4aa01e82-2732-4ac7-b246-a06c904f2c2c&documentset=en-us&renderkey=xml, and then click Add or Change home page.
In the Add or Change Home Page dialog box, do one of the following:
• To make the current webpage your only home page, click Use this webpage as your only home page.
• 4. To start a home page tab set or to add the current webpage to your set of home page tabs, click Add this webpage to your home page tabs.
• To replace your existing home page or home page tab set with the webpages you currently have open, click Use the current tab set as your home page. This option will only be available if you have more than one tab open in Internet Explorer.
5. Click Yes to save your changes.

Windows XP (all versions)

1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Programs or All Programs, and clicking Internet Explorer.
2. Navigate to the webpage you would like to set as the home page.
3. On the pull-down menus at the top of the window, click the Tools menu and choose Internet Options (if the Tools is not showing at the top of the page, you can access it using the Tools pull-down menu located on the right side of the window).
4. To make the current webpage your home page, click the “Use Current” button.
5. Click OK to save your changes.

Hope this helps!
