Question about Dell Latitude D600 Notebook

1 Answer

Dell Latitude d600 starts up, loads Dell screen, but stops there

Dell Latitude d600 starts up, loads Dell screen then stops on an almost all black screen. Almost because there is one little annoying white cursor that just blinks...and blinks...and blinks. I've tried 1001 tricks but nothing has happened.

Back story:
- used it at 8 AM on battery power then closed it but took it off of automatic stand by mode. Understandably, the battery died when i came back 4 hours later.
- I plugged it into the power source and made sure it was getting a charge.
- came back 9 hours later and it will not go past the cursor screen.

Help?

try to point your cursor on the lower side of your screen . Then the toolbar will automatically appear. Right click your mouse and click lock toolbar so that it will not hide.

I turn my Dell Latitude D600 laptop on and startup screen shows as usual but then it goes to a black screen. Can you help?

If your computer keeps on running after it turns black the problem maybe is the LCD. However if the computer is not running after it went black then possible problem is with the MOBO (Mainboard)

Hope it helps.

Dell Lattiude D600 cursor locked in middle of screen - even after we turn on and off - no way to do anything because cursor won't move - not even little blue mouse in the middle of the screen

Try booting up after installing an external USB mouse. This may give you a mouse to install new keyboard drivers.
If the problem is the keyboard/tracking pad, (hardware) installing another keyboard may eliminate the issue.
