This Viewsonic VX710 LCD monitor will not turn on. The LED light blinks repeatly and the very slight noise the monitor makes on initial startup repeats over and over again. Nothing is displayed on the screen even without the video cable pluged in. With a previous post about this issue it may be safe to assume this is a pattern faliure. Any assistance on this would be great. Also, I have already checked for broken solder joints on the switch board and checked for loose/broken wires for the switchboard harness.
It could be bad caps on the power supply. Look for bulging caps and replace them if bad.

Im not sure I competly understand what a "cap" is. Im no slouch when it comes to fixing stuff but some of the terminology excapes me. Can you explain what a cap on the power supply is and what it looks like?
