I`m tring to use format factory to install a dvd to my computer then to a terabite I coverted it to an avi format then used a movie making softwhere to change it back to mpeg2 but the picture freezes up. Some body told me I could not due this because of windows vista the dvd where made in windows xp any sug?

You can download them at www.ovguide.com in the movies section then to MOVIE25 website .If you are to download streaming movies in formats such as FLV,AVI,DIVX etc you should get the software INTERNET DOWNLOAD MANAGER.It will intergrate into your browser and come up and download the video in whatever format it is.After you download the movie get the sofware VSO CONVERTEX TO DVD and it will covert the movie and burn it to play in your home dvd player.

BurnRdeluxe. just installed, how do i burn a dvd


if you want to burn a movie in a stand alone dvd player you need to convert the avi to dvd .vob format first.

If your dvd can play divx along with vob (dvd) format then just burn the avi using the data dvd function you maybe able to put 3 or 4 movies on a 4 gig dvd. This will not work on a stand alone dvd player.

Converting an avi file to a dvd format


You can use a program like CloneDVD to convert from an avi to a DVD format. Then after you do that you can use the same program and tell it to burn that dvd format to a regular dvd. Keep in mind that to convert files can take a few hours so keep this in mind if your doing something big like a movie. Make sure you have a dvd-rw in your computer to otherwise you can't burn to a regular DVD.

The following formats can be played on Windows media player:

avi
mov
mp4
mpg
mpeg

Normally DVD players cannot read compressed formats, if you have a regular DVD/MP3 player, that wont read any of the formats above, or with some luck will read only uncoded Avi, mov or mpeg.

The formats above are all compressed formats, and often they need additional software call codecs, they can be read on computers, but they generally are not working on dvd players.

To be sure that a DVD will read compressed computer movies, you need a special DVD player with Divx , like the one below:

you cant play avi on normal dvd player,but you can convert avi to dvd format by use free softwere ( filmMachine )

Avi/dvx/mpeg format to dbd format converter


I use convert x to dvd, but i beleive all converters need to run movie to convert it, so i does take an hour to do it
