You said you have changed your brushes and the machine did'nt
work, but i dont know why you have changed the brushes, may be the brushes were worn, but the first thing for the a machine to work would be the door switches. You will also have to change your door inter-lock to make your drum move or the machine will not work at a tall.I hope you find this information use full.

more than likely the rear bearing has gone bad and when a load is applied the difference in weight distribution causes the knocking.

How do you change brushes on a hotpoint aquarius washing machine

I have a Hotpoint Aquarius WF740. This does have brushes. Tilt the washing machine backwards & look underneath. The brushes can be seen on the motor housing, they are secured by two screws each.

How do i change the brushes on my wf250 hotpoint aquarius machine

your machine may have a 'brushless' motor. but generally hotpoint motor brushes are fixed with 2 screws and are in ablack plastic cover and can be seen if you tip your machine back against a wall and look underneath. the motor being at the bottom of the drum, you could remove them wuth a long magnetic screwdriver.

Hi Fred,

If the motor buzzes, makes little movements but does not have the power to spin, then you need to replace the run capacitor for the motor. It's a big cylindrical one you can't miss.

No real test for them, just replace.

This is usually the fault - worn brushes, stuck brushes or duff capacitor.

(Mine's on it's way out too on an aquarius WD61, but like the plumbers tap - I'll wait a bit before doing it lol! )
