Sd card reader sdhc slot sandisk

Older Card readers do not read SDHC memory cards. If the card reader is built in then you probably cannot do anything about it, but you can buy a new USB Card reader to read the card.

My San Disk micro SDHC Memory Cards 8GB wont format and when put in a device it heats up. What is wrong with it?

technically, some card readers dont have any regulators to minimize the voltage to read a microSD.. some direct card reader can destroy/ damage your memory card.. try to use an all-in-one card reader, or a microSD adaptor then put it in your card reader slot..
Card reader slot in laptops made for memory cards only.. =))

UNABLE TO ACCESSMY 4GB MICRO SD CARD

Your memory card reader lacks SDHC compatibility. You must either update your pc card reader to one which is compliant with SDHC or use a cheap external card reader to do the job.

SD and SDHC cards look the same and fit the same slots, but they have significant technical differences which older readers cannot handle.

SanDisk ULTRA II 8GB won't read when installed in a laptop. Works fine in the Digital camcorder. Trying to import the footage on to a Fujitsu tablet laptop (12 months old). Reads the standard 2Gb memory...

No, it's a hardware issue. Your 8GB card is an SDHC card (the HC stands for High Capacity), but the card reader in your machine is clearly only compatible with the older type SD cards. SDHC devices will accept SD cards, but devices designed solely for SD cards cannot read or format SDHC cards.

There is no firmware update for this, your only fix is to buy an external reader compatible with SDHC cards for connection via a USB socket. Most new readers are fully SDHC compliant, but check the specs for shelling out your hard-earned...

Formatting troubles for a 8gb Sandisk Micro SDHC

Hi Tony,

Have your My Computer window open and re-insert the card into the reader. If it doesn't show immediately, then right click and choose refresh. It should show up then.

SanDisk 8GB SDHC card cannot be read by either computer or T-Mobile Dash phone.

Solution :

Put the card in your phone, link the phone to your pc and format the card through your pc. You should see two additional drives, one for your phones memory and one for your card. I had the same problem with my phone but it is now sorted !
