Without more info it sounds like one leg on led readout went bad , i hate to say but you need to replace t-stat, in the mean time if you go to breaker panel and shut off power to both the (a/h and cond.)inside and outside unit take t-stat off the wall and disconnect all wires there should be green, red, yellow and white wires. If this is the case take yellow, red & green and twist these 3 together and put a wir nut on them.then turn power on to both units and this will get you a/c the only problem with this is, unit will run constantly until you either diconnect wires or turn power back off. hope this helps

Goodman Model CPLE24-1C - Two Units. One unit works fine, second outside unit will not engage.

It sounds like the run capacitor(silver can in control box) has failed if your comfortable around electrical you can change it; just replace it with the same rating as your other one. Make sure the power is off and write down it rating (i.e. 35+5 370 or 440 volts for a dual or 35 370 or 440 volts for a single).

The AC doesn´t work when outside temp goes 100 degrees and above

Try using a garden hose to wash down the condensor coil (the coil that is exposed to the outside air).
During the cooler times when it seems to be working, check the temperature difference of the air coming out against the temperature of the air coming in (room temperature air). The temperature should be approximately 16 to 22degF difference. If you are not getting at least 16degF air, you most likely need to have your unit serviced to see if professionial cleaning or a recharge is needed. If you are getting the temperature difference but not getting the amount of cooling you need during hot weather, it could be a capacity problem. You can perform a quick test by using the calculator on this site:

I hope you find this information helpful. Good Luck! :-)

Air conditioner/furnace was working for the past few months. Came home today at it is at 81 degrees, although my set temperature was set at 72 degrees. Temperature is rising to 83 degrees and I can't...

Check outside breakers. Open up outside panel and see if contactor is pulled in. If so you have a voltage problem or a bad capacitor. Sometimes a wire burns off. So look for this. If you have a float switch on the inside unit it may be tripped. Stopped up drain. Russ

Carrier Air Conditioner- not reaching set temperature

if it is set to 76 degrees and its 78 in the house its working fine it is suppose to shut off once it reaches 76 but sometimes there is a 1 or 2 degree differential built ini would keep you filter clean and as long as it blows out cold air i wouldnt be to concerned most airconditioners need yearly cleanings though

Air conditioner constantly running, not cooling house

Check and see if it is froze up. Check big line at outside unit for ice. check filter and replace as needed. Check outside fan to see if it is running. Wash out outside coil If fan and compressor are running and has hot small line at outside unit. If not froze up and coil is clean you will need to call in a pro. If compress over heated you may need to wait for it to restart if coil was dirty. Again make sure out door fan and or unit is running and clean.

Ac not blowing cold after outside temp reaches 98 degrees

Sounds like you have dirty condenser coils. Remove the upper shroud and check the condenser for clean. Take a water hose and gently spray out the coils paying special attention not to bend the coils over with too much pressure. This will allow more air movement through the coils and give you better cooling efficiency.

Hope this helps,

Jeff
