I'm not sure what HD box you have, but if it is DirecTV it does that sometimes. Just reset it and try again. Sometimes it doesn't sync correctly with the TV. Once you get it right though just leave it alone, though, or it'll probably do it again.

Hope that helps!

How can I get my sharp tv to go back to 1080 pixels from 480pixels...

the 480 or 1080 refers to the number of scanning lines top to bottom and is usually automatic. The correct signal for 1080 must be connected to a 1080 input-----if using a box for signal problem could be coming from there.

THE HD INPUT WENT TO 4810 RATHER THAN 1080, ANYONE KNOW HOW TO TURN IT BACK

It is determined by a box if used, a setting in the box or set and in some cases the box automatically determines the 480/1080.

I can also be use of the correct input (component versus HDMI)

Often overlooked if a box is to reboot the box itself (unplug power for a few minutes to box) Plug it back and allow it to reboot---this problem is rarely in the set---contact your signal provider if you cannot resolve it.

Make it sure that you have a 1080 signal from your source(eg. HD receiver, bluray player etc.). Try pressing format button on the remote until you get full picture . Or try changing the format or aspect ration in your satellite or cable box.

How do I reset big screen tv to 1080 on remote

You don't.
It should automatically switch to 1080 when and only when there is a HD signal present. Otherwise it will be in 480 and you will need to use the format button on the remote to change the picture size. If it does not switch to 1080 and you know for sure you have a true HD signal present, there is a problem with the unit.
Hope this helps,

IF the MITS has 3 component inputs blue red yellow RCA jacks on the back then yes at 480 or 720p, you'll need to attach 2 audio cables for sound. If it has a HDMI input then absolutely.
please rate!

if the cable box is sending in 1080 signal the tv will not be able to format to a 480 (you can switch to either/or)
the problem you have is if your not sending 1080 to the tv your not really watching HD but you cant strech the 4:3 (non HD channels) to the 16:9
the only thing you can do is run analog signal and a digital signal then switch between the two sorces for your HD and non HD programs

No AVC media box

You should be able to use this with only the DVI connection as just a large monitor. You can use a DVI to HDMI adapter as I do believe the display is HDCP compliant. Many AV receivers will upscale to the necessary 1920x1080p resolution that the display needs.
