Yes, while it was mostly trial and error, in the end I recall he reset it from WEP to WPA but he did not change the key. The printer is an HP Officejet 6210.

What kind of printer is it? That would help if we knew what kind it was.

You don't say what changes were made on the router. An educated guess says that the security was changed. If so, the passphrase or security code must be put into the printer. You also did not say what make and model printer you have so I cannot tell you the exact procedure you need to follow. Please understand that I am not scolding but merely stating why I cannot give you more complete info. I hope this helps.

I had a 6210. I believe that it cannot accept WPA. Change your router to WEP (as well as all of the computers) and give them a new key and you should be good to go.

My router isnt sending signal to my printer

The router doesn't send signals to a printer. The Linksys transmits a radio signal recieved by the wireless adapters on other devices, if your printer has wireless compatibility it must be setup on the printer, in the wireless settings. I don't think it's a Linksys issue. It a computer software issue. If you post the Computer Make, Model, and your OS, the Printer Make, mode,l I will try to help you. Is this the first time using the Printer?

My linksys 2.4 had a great signal for months and now u can only get a signal if u are right next to it. Is there a way to fix that or an antenna u can make to give out a better signal

Try shifting the router to a higher channel, like 11. Default settings are congested frequencies in homes. With land line cordless reaching 1/2 a mile, it makes for spotty results. 11 seems to always work.

Log in to the router and check that the WPA/PSK encryption ID or passphrase is still stored. If you have reset the router it may be that the encryption passphrase has been lost and will require to be re-entered. If you cannot remember it it may be possible to obtain it from the properties/settings dialog box on one of the wifi cards on your home computers.

Why does the linksys wireless router ''WirelessG: keep going off/

Intermittent Connectivity:
NOTE: Before following the steps in this article, check if your wireless computers have stable connection when connected to other wireless networks (hotspots).
This article assumes that all wireless computers are experiencing intermittent wireless connection with the Linksys router.
Frequent wireless disconnection can be caused by different factors such as:
  1. Wireless interference within the network.
  2. Wireless settings of the Linksys router are still set to default.
  3. Firmware is corrupted.
Reducing Wireless Interference
If you are experiencing frequent disconnection from the wireless network, it helps if you check the following factors, all of which can greatly affect your wireless signals:
your cordless telephone system (or even your neighbors’), or other nearby equipment. Try to change your router’s channel to 1 or 11 (the default channel is 6) and restart the wireless computers.
Physical obstructions: Your router or wireless computers may be losing connectivity because of physical obstacles such as walls and floors. Try to move the equipment to different locations to find a better link.

  • Placement of the router: Linksys suggests that you place your router as high off the ground as possible. When placing the router in a high location, leave a distance of two feet between the router antenna tips, ceiling, and wall. If your signal passes through multiple floors, place the router on the upper-most floor, and high up in the room.
  • Surroundings: Keep the router away from large metal objects, bodies of water (fish tanks, bathrooms), and any electrical equipment including television sets, microwaves, radios, etc.
Customizing Wireless Settings of the Router
Having default wireless settings on the Linksys router may cause conflict with other Linksys routers within your network range. Linksys suggests changing the SSID (network name) and the Wireless Channel of your router. Also, if it is possible, enable the Wireless Security of your router.
To change the router’s SSID or the wireless network’s name, click here.
To change the router’s channel, click here.
To enable the wireless security on the router, click here.
NOTE: If the wireless connection remains unstable after performing the steps above, upgrade the router’s firmware. For instructions, click here

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
