Buzzing noise on my 42" Vizio

My tv speakers sound like they are blown, but they sound fine when watching a dvd. I read other posts on here and tried to follow their advice, but it didnt work. I have been playing around with the tv and cable settings for an hour and nothing is helping.
Could it be the cable or maybe the speakers really are blown? We just gott the tv a few months ago and we dont turn it up very loud. I cant believe the speakers would be blown already!
Please I will take any suggestions!! :)

It sounds like an rca (white or red) cAble is not fully inseted, or the audio level of the device making the bad sound is too high and distorting. try checking the red and white cables are fully inserted on both ends. if that fails, try another rca cable.

The TV usually hums when the backlight setting is too low. So turning it up should get rid of the problem. To do this please follow these instructions:

1. Turn the TV on.
2. Press the Menu button on the remote, located right below the channel changing button.
3. Press the down direction button, located at the middle of the remote. Press that button until the backlight is highlighted.
4. Press the right direction button until the backlight is at 100.
5. Press the OK button and then the Exit button until you get back to your picture.

Vizio speakers make a buzzing noise

It's not the speakers. I usually hear of this problem when hooked up to an HD cable box. You can adjust the volume on the cable box and also on the TV. I'll bet you don't have this problem when watching a DVD.

If the problem is what I think it is, your HD Cable box is set at a really low volume while your TV is set to a rather high volume. Try setting the TV volume to around one-third, then set the volume on the cable box until it's as loud as you'd ever want to hear it. With the TV at such a high volume, you're actually amplifying any stray electronic signals that the wires might be picking up, and the above solution will fix that.

Good Luck.

Vizio Speaker Making a Buzzing Noise

My 32" vizio I bought a week ago does the same things.

Buy an external sound system for the tv. Turn the speakers off in the TV menu. Hook the sound system up to the out speaker hookups on the tv.

You will not only have better found, you will fix the speaker buzz problem.
