Try to remove the sheets of paper from the feeder. Open the cover and remove the cartridges. Close the cover. Unplug and replug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and make sure they are properly seated and secured. Close the cover. Load some paper. Try to print again. If problem continues, please contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance.
Try looking around the edges of the cover or in the hinge area for a switch that may be stuck. Most covers have a switch to indicate that the cover is open, the cover may not be seated properly or the switch may be stuck in the open position.
put your finger on the second hole on the top from the right and press the switch (it's small, gotta try a little...), when the display changes, press copy and close the door... it just worked for me!! good luck
This is the problem the cover switch in the printer you need to replace
the switch this switch is very difficult to find in the printer is
usually hidden ,you need to check the cover there will be a projection
in the cover which will go into a slot thats where the switch is located
There is a plastic lever in the back of the scanner where it comes into contact with a part made to push the lever when closed to work the switch. It is a poor design. The lever fits over the small micro-switch very loosly and the tabs wear out really quick. Lexmark will not send another lever. They state buy another printer. If you are real careful, you can put the lever back on the switch and hold it in place while you close the lid.
