Why when i turn off my car makes a loud sound on the subwoofers

what Adcom says on their site.

There are usually two reasons for this: The amp has a large power supply and it doesn't use output relays. Let's look a bit more closely at both.

First, a power supply's job is to filter and store energy until the amplifier circuitry needs it. amps have HUGE power supplies. That's part of the reason they sound as good as they do. But when you turn the system off, that energy has to go somewhere. The "thump" you occasionally hear is the power supply capacitors dissipating the energy. It's not dangerous at all. In fact, it's just another sign that the amp won't run out of steam when you really want serious sounds.

Yes, we could have used output relays that would disconnect the speakers as soon as the amp turned off. That way, you would never hear the thump. But relays, as we've already seen, aren't great for real high fidelity sound quality. If we used them, you would never hear how good our circuitry is either. Is that a sensible tradeoff? We sure don't think so.

Red light lit, no sound, I've tried footswitch

If you hear absolutely nothing from the speaker then there's a very good chance that your power module got fried, let me know a bit more to improve accuracy...

Hi need some help instaling audio system on my bmw e39 525tds,got fuel shockwave 800 watt 3 oms subwoofer,2 JBL gto936e speakers and 2 sony tweeters and toxic tx-600 amp,can you tell me what wiring i need...

Walmart or a Specialty Audio Shop would carry a basic wiring kit for your job at task. As for the additional amp, thats your personal preference. If the Toxic Tx-600 AMP is a 600w amp, then I would say that is decent unless you're looking to get tickets for sound violations.. if you live in a city.

In the monitor section on the 2488 console (upper right) make sure your monitoring source is set to 'stereo'. Then make sure your 'monitor level' control is turned up. The 'stereo' fader (sub mix fader on the MKI, stereo fader on the MKII).

Cordless phone, no power

Are you saying its taking a long time for the sound to come out of the speakers?? or that theres no sound at all?? If its taking a long time check the resistance of each speaker to see that a componet in the crossover or the speaker didnt short. If you take all the speakers and if theres supost to be a relay for protection and you hear it click then the amp is good or has an out put stage problem like bad poutput devices or blown driver transistors. Need alittle more info if you could Thanks.
