Goto the HP website and download the AUDIO drivers for your laptop type/number.

Have you tried a System Restore to a date before this issue? Have you done ANY Audio updates? Is it muted? Have you tried headphones? Open the Device Manager, select Sounds, Speakers selected? is it enabled? Open Properties, update or roll-back audio driver. Restoring the original audio driver quickly resets audio sttings for the sound harware and causes windows to reinitialize the sound configuration.The driver recovery process in the HP Recovery Manager restores audio drivers for the sound hardware that came pre.instaled on the computer.
Reinstall original audio HP Recovery Manager:
Click Start,type recovery,Recovery Manager,Permission to open,click Next,No,Next,Yes,Next(Welcome hardware). Click Next,Select Sound Driver,Next,wait for original reinstall audio driver, click Finish. Voilá Volumen for you!

START>ALL PROGRAMS>ACCECORIES>SYSTEM TOOLS> SYSTEM RESTORE>RESTORE MY COMPUTER TO ERLIER TIME, (SELECT THE DATE THAT BEFORE YOUR AUDIO STOP WORKING)

GETTING NO AUDIO OUTPUT AFTER DOWNLOADING WINDOWS UPDATE


Uninstall the drivers & then download & install the latest from the manufacturers website (your PC model vendor) or you can perform a system restore to get the sound back
