The shutter won't close and I have had nothing but major problems with this & the company I bought it from is worthless and so is Kodak Co. It has been repaired & returned 3 times & still doesn't work properly. It shuts on and off at random times...frustrating!@!!

Have you returned it to Kodak, or the place you bought it? Kodak can repair their own products a lot easier than jobbers can.

Sounds like a timing problem to me.... There is an adjustment you can make, but it's a "trial & error" fix: you have to make an adjustment one way or the other in the camstack, and then see if it's worse or better (relative to a correct slide cycle). This adjustment is made with the projector upside-down with the bottom cover removed. Check out the attached picture for more detail on where & how to make the adjustment.

Stuck automatic lens covers are fairly. But usually it's very easy to fix, without even opening the camera. See this link for troubleshooting steps for this problem.

My father dropped my Kodak camera into the sand and it won't work now

If there's sand in the mechanics of the shutter flap and you can hear more that's stuck inside, there's nothing you can do except take it to a camera technician. It'll need to be disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and reassembled.
You will more than likely do more damage if you try turning it on or shaking it to get the sand out.

Sorry to hear about it!

Had same problem. If the batteries are good, simply take them out and reinstall them. Worked for me.

When turning on, shutter opens then closes.

Most possible that the control board inthe camera is faulty and the shutter closing off after opening is the errors in the servo of the camera.
It will be necessary to obtain the control board from Kodak and should be estimated.

It appears that pictures are being taken with the lens cap on - when that's not the case. In other words all camera indications are that the picture is "taken", but it is a black square. I'm thinking a...

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help:

How to replace battery cover for Kodak Dx6440

We had the same problem dropping the camera, and ordered a pair of new battery covers. I was able to install this by carefully removing the cover screws and slipping the pins into their slots. I am sure you probably got it by now.

This problem was before the one posted about start and then die. The "expert" response posted was worthless. This whole website seems to be a collection of anecdotal semi-worthless stuff.

Perhaps other topics may contain more relevant valuable commentary.

Polaroid FLM1511 LCD TV

I have the same problem, but I have a remote. I have tried everything and nothing works. When I try to type in the factory set password under parent lock, which is all zeros, it immediately turns the television to channel zero! We didn't set this, it just started happening. The manual for this model LCD 2000, is worthless! I called the company and they too were worthless! The call goes to another company for some reason and they have the same manual that I do. Any help would be appreciated!
