Engine snug to turn. not froze up completely. Overfull oil level.

Drain the gas, then drain the oil. Now refill the oil to the correct amount/height. Remove the spark plug and rinse/clean it in some gas. If there is any build up, scrape it out and make sure the gap is correct. Spin the engine a couple of times to actuate everything. If you see any oil at the spark plug hole, spray a small amount of gas through the spark plug hole and spin the engine to distribute the gas. Reinstall the spark plug and put some gas in the tank. Remove the air cleaner, place your hand over the carb throat and spin the engine a couple of times. You will partially flood the engine, but this will thin any oil left in the cylinder and intake/exhaust ports. Replace the air cleaner and try to start the engine as you normally would. You should have compression by now and the engine should be trying to run. If it feels like it is still flooded, remove the spark plug again and spin the engine a couple of times with the throttle in the off position. Reinstall the spark plug after a few minutes and try to start the engine normally. It should run. It will probably be a bit rough and smoke, but this should pass once the oil burns away. If the engine still runs rough after the smoke clears, clean the spark plug again as it may be fouled.

94 Buick LeSabre is not passing emissions it has to much air in the air fuel mixture and gas is going into the catalytic converter I think its the erg valve but not sure I need it to pass emissions next...

try this trick first..pull the plugs out and make the center gap a bit wider than it calls for..this will give a hotter spark and the gas will burn more..its hard to get thru emissions in cold weather because the engine may not be warmed up enough need it to havve been running at least 30 minutes so it will be good and warm..take the car out on the hiway for about 20 minutes and go do the test after you stop in at a parts store and get any codes erased..

Does bad spark plugs burn gas faster

Worn spark plugs burn less fuel & yes,
waste gas & polute the air

Spark plugs get changed every 3 years,
before they wear to the point they stress
the ignition system

Running rough and white thick smoke from exhaust

sounds like you are burning coolant. sounds like you have a headgasket issue or cracked block. is your coolant level low?? in the overflow bottle and in the raadiator? something tells me that you will find that coolant is low. you are pulling coolant into the engine and it goes into the cylinder and pass the exhaust to the back of the car. the white smoke is the coolant burning off and thats why the car runs rough, because coolant is not flamable so it doesnt burn. this results in the spark plug not firing right and having rough running condition.

My car won't pass smog . (ca.) the no (ppo) measurement is 739 max allowed is 704 . what could be the problem i'd need to fix inorder to pass?

i would buy a really good set of spark plugs and replace the wires and distributar cap this will burn more of the smog off and get the plugs with 4 prongs they fire much better and improve your gas mileage and make it run smoother hope this helps
