Question about Brother Office Equipment & Supplies
This sounds like your print head has clogged up on you. What you can do is simply run a few print head cleaning cycles and you should get your magenta again. It may take 5-10 cycles or more before it is printing again. You should find the clean cycle option in your monitor software. Run it a few times before you do any test pages. It will save a small amount of ink as it won't print properly at first.
The cause can be from either the printer not being used enough, or a ink that isn't compatible with other inks or even the print head picking up clay from poor quality paper. If you don't use the printer enough the ink can dry or gel. Incompatible inks can form a gel when they touch. If the print head takes up particles off of the paper it can form an sludge that also blocks the print head.
