top and control panel work but oven does nothing - bake%20element2.jpg Bake element Most times it is easy to see a failed oven element. Their will be a hole or a welded mark somewhere on the element where a piece of cheese fell on it and caused a hotspot. You can also check elements with a meter or simply apply some wall current to them using a cheater cord to see if it gets warm. If the element gets warm that means it will work and is not bad. If the element ain't coming on but you have checked it out, of course then that would be the thermostat. HEADS UP: When fooling with the stove always be sure the power is off. Pull out the bottom drawer and most of the time you can unplug the power cord without moving the stove. To make it easier to work on most stoves the oven door can be removed. I set the door at the broil position and gently ease up on the door, remove it, and set it to the side. As far as the oven thermostat goes, they are simple enough to replace but quite expensive. I suggest if you have an electronic oven control then that old extended warranty plan is a winner. Heads Up: One thing you want to remember about fancy electronic controls, never put the stove on self clean! The temperature will cause the delicate electronics to fail. I don't care what anyone says. That stove will get to 900 degrees and adversely affect those controls.

Panasonic 1250w genius senor inverter less then a year old. Control panel lights up, works.microwave itself does not, control panel shuts off in a few seconds

When a Panasonic Inverter Microwave shuts off after a feew seconds, it is either a bad inverter which is the quite expensive circuit board that powers the magnetron that puts out the microwave energy, or a bad magnetron, Or BOTH typically this would be a costly repair, But since it is still under warranty. You need to find a Panasonic warranty service provider in your area. If it is a counter top unit, you may have to take it to them for repair.

My Maytag Microwave is blowing the 250v- 20a fuse behind the key panel on the black wire. It melted the fuse holder mounted to the main body of the unit. Any thoughts on why?

The magnetron is shorted, the keypad control board is bad, blowing fuses. If less than 7 years old it has a inverter board that can be trouble, But with the level of work and parts it will easily exceed the cost of a new microwave oven.

My smh8165 microwave stopped working and the display says "SE" and is less then a year old

Unplug microwave. Remove (2) flat head machine screws on the top of the microwave holding in the top front trim. My trim slid left and gently pulling was removed. The control panel has (1) screw holding it in. Remove screw, slide up and gently pulling detach from microwave. There are (5) electrical disconnects which need to be disconnected. Do not force they should come easily. Lay control panel on and old towel. Squirt both the male and female connections(in microwave control panel opening) with electrical cleaner. Carefully clean up excess. Connect the (5) quick disconnects and carfully fit back in the control panel opening. Attach screw. Place top trim in and slide right to lock. Once it is in secure the top two screws. Clean area and plug back in. Hopefully your up and running. These pieces break real easy so don't force anything.

Maytag gemini oven tough controls won't work --

Check the door switch and the temperature probe. If they are ok, then the problem is likely in the control board. These boards can be rebuilt.

My washer went on control lock and now it wont turn on i tried to unplug it but nothing works

Would plug something else into outlet to make sure your power supply is ok. If you remove bottom panel in front(three screws) or top panel(three screws in back and slide panel back slightly to raise off) there should be a tech sheet with some suggestions. If it is less than a year old call for warranty service. Keep kids away with panels off. If unit is completely dead a guess would be main control board on top, but that is just a guess.......

GE 30" Gas Freestanding Stove Model #JGB290MENBS. The control panel on top has gone out and cannot use oven. Can still use cook top. Is there a reset button. We have had this stove 6 months.

There is no reset button. First, unplug the range, and plug it back in after 5 minutes. That MAY reset the control, if not, the control will need to be replaced. If the range is less than a year old, it should be covered by the factory warranty (unless it was purchased a Sears store).
