Question about Canon PowerShot A80 Digital Camera
After recovering from an E18 error, our camera was shooting fine until a couple of weeks ago when it started having problems metering light. Outdoor snow shots were totally blown out, indoor shots with the flash were dark where before these photos would have been fine. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot it or work around it- when I set the exposure manually the LCD display doesn't respond the way it used to. I did hook the camera up to the computer to make sure that the problem wasn't just the LCD- the photos themselves were blown out/dark.
This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:
