Question about Washing Machines
While running a load the washer started smoking (burning rubber). I took off the front and removed the belt. Belt was cooked at the motor pully. Motor and tensioner seem to turn fine, I fear it is the trans. The trans pully will turn clockwise by itself, counterclockwise it turns the whole transmission. The drum will turn ccw but not cw. A tag states the trans is not rebuildable. Questions: 1) Is it the trans? 2) Can or should the trans be rebuilt? 3)How tough is it to R&R the trans and where can I get a step by step to do so?
