If the blades are not bent than the deck could be bent from steping on it or one blade is on upside down, a bearing may be down in one jack shaft. Or maybe a deck hanger is bent if so there are adjustment bolts on the hangers to raise or lower eather side. Also make sure the front of your deck is at lease 1/4 inch higher than the back of the deck.

Possible cause could be a build up of grass or deb re under deck which needs scraped and cleaned out, or a damaged, bent or rusted out baffle which is not channeling the cuttings correctly, and finally check for bent or damaged blades.

Check the blades for true. If one is bent from hitting something that will cause uneven cuts.

Hi Krissy, either a blade has come loose or bent or a blade spindle has collapsed, a look under the mower deck will tell you, regards Phil.

jack the tractor (using a tractor jack) or remove the deck, measure the blade tips against each other where they meet in the center of the deck and see if they are the same tip to tip. Bearing wear, a bent deck or blade can make them cut at different heights in the center.

42" deck the dicharge side

First thing to check would be the tire pressure. I usually run 12 psi in the front and 10 psi in the rear. Next would be to check the deck bearings. If the bearings are bad in either spindle the blade will cut uneven. Easiest way to check bearings is to grab ahold of the blade and try to rock side to side. If all is ok there the deck will need to be leveled. John Deere makes a blade leveler which can be picked up at the local dealer for a few bucks. Let me know if you have any other questions or if this helps, Daniel.

try pushing the blade up into the deck,,,if there is any lift in it there is the fault,,the top nut has come off the blabe drive pully and let the drive shaft drop a little this will lower the cutting blade,,,fix it before the blade falls right out

My mowers cuts uneven I replaced the blades but it still cuts uneven how can I level it?

Park mower on a level flat surface ( a concrete garage floor is ideal ) lift deck up until you can put a piece of a 2x4 flat underneath the deck and lower deck until it just contacts the 2x4. loosen adjustment nuts or turnbuckles and adjust until the deck just starts to clear the 2x4. this should level your deck. Now , lift the deck and remove the 2x4. put blade height lever on a known cut length and with a tape measure, measure the tips of the blades from the floor to the blade tip...they should all be the same within 1/8 of an inch...if not then you either have a bent blade, bent spindle shaft, or spindle bolts are loose or misaligned. Your deck could be warped too...depending on how hard a lick it took...good luck !!! ;-D
