Question about Apple iBook G4 1.2GHz 12" w/ Combo Drive Mac Notebook

12'' iBook G4 doesn't charge

My iBook G4 12 inch doesn't charge. I thought the problem was the DC in and I replaced. It worked for a couple of days and then it stopped charging again. I then bought a FastMac U-Charge (http://fastmac.com/ucharge.php), which charges the battery directly. But, this is very inconvenient. I would like to try and fix the problem again. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Does the lcd display get brighter when you plug the adapter in.If not you might want to replace both the dc in and the ac adapter.
good luck

Flashing ?

We ran a typical Apple Ibook G4 12 inch battery of tests, including games, applications, and a couple other areas. Time constraints limited the amount of testing we could get done before the NDA lift (and it's already a few hours late), but we will be providing a follow-up article with further testing and information. That said, if there are any specific areas that you'd like to see tested, feel free to e-mail me or leave a comment.

Water spilled onto ibook g4. Harddisk works fine but some keys on keyboard does not work. Any solutions please?

keep it in a warm dry place for a day.if that doesn't help i would assume your keyboard is broken and somebody has to open the ibook and replace the part. If you want to pay to have somebody do it for you there is a third party ibook Repair Service. However, if you want to do it yourself, the part is available on ebay. Here's an ibook Repair guide. Maybe a tech savy friend can do it for you.

Ibook g4 replaced battery ibook won't charge charger light comes on then off (green light) Is there a dc board problem how much$$$

Yes, DC in board problem. The part is cheap and you can get one on e-bay, but installing this thing is a bi.ch. Apple engineers installed like a million screws of varying lengths and shapes on this thing to get it held together. You can easily damage the plastic shell if you don't know what your doing and forget to remove a screw while trying to pry the case open. Not worth repairing IMHO because of the time and cost involved. Chuck it up to a loss and donate the thing for a tax credit or sell it to some chump on e-bay who likes pain and a challenge.

IBook G4 battery charging, but won't power on

Stupid question but did you remember to reconnect the start up switch to the logic board? Also check to make sure you did not break the connector loose from the logic board.

My apple ibook g4 will not recognize the charger

It takes a lot of force to break a charger connector in the charge socket, so the connector socket in the iBook will probably be damaged and needs replacing. Take it to a reputable repairer, or, if you have the skills, you can fit a replacement DC In Board.
