Question about Samsung SGH-G600 Cellular Phone
My new Samsung SGH-L700 has an impractical software glitch. When paired and authorised with a bluetooth device that supports the "Bluetooth Stereo Headset" service, the phone automatically launches the Music Player once the connection has been automatically established, and starts to play the "Last Played" track.
Whilst this may be seen as a "feature" to some users, it is somewhat annoying when the BT Car Kit is also an MP3 player. The result is often that the car kit MP3 player, and phone's MP3 player are both playing different tracks simultaneously, requiring the user to manually stop the Music Player on the phone.
The only way I could get around the problem was to do a full factory reset on the phone, so that the "Last Played" option in the phone's Music Player is disabled. In this case, the Music Player still launches after connection, but there is no track available for it to play. This solution therefore requires the user to avoid using the Music Player on the phone completely, and also leaves the phone on the Music Player main menu whilst driving - not ideal.
If the phone is un-authorised, the connection asks if you want to play music on the BT Car Kit, in which case you can answer N, the next qustion is if you want to Audio Connect with the car kit, which requires you to answer Y if you want BT hands free. When the car kit is Authorised, it seems that it is authorised to do both "Audio Connect" and "Play Music" with no option, and that the Last Played song is set to start automatically. This is not appropriate for my environment.
Is there any way to disable the "Stereo Headset" service on the phone's bluetooth. I cannot find a setting to disable the automatic playing of the Last Played MP3 once the connection is made?
Is this perhaps a software oversight, something that could be addressed in a new release?
