Wow, that means your element is shorted

alot of times if your element is broken or a bra strap could be somewhere in between your element, visualize your element and either replace element or remove object .

Dryer not drying

Not a major appliance expert--but if the situation is as described with hot air out vent but not in the drum where the clothing is it seems to me you have a blockage between the drum and lint filter to where it reaches the vent tube---they do make long flexible brushes for this-----a suggestion: if you have a compressor try forcing air down from the lint filter with the vent tube removed to see if the blockage is there and will clear or not.

A blockage can be a fire hazard so if you do not find it have a tech out.

Dryer takes too long to dry. GETS HOT...but not drying. Ran two cycles, frame work was hot, but clothes were not compelety dry. Note: not any lint either.??

make sure all the venting is clear of build up and debris,, clogged venting will not allow the moisture to escape the dryer resulting in damp and undry clothes ,, don't forget to check the outdorr vent and clear anything built up inside of that too

Dryer runs for a short period of time and then shuts down without any error code but with a "clean filter" indication. This happens when running any automatic cycle except "air dry". ...

it is proberly lint stuck around the motor and fan resticting air flow to the motor and the motor is shutting down because it is to hot vac out around the motor and inside the cabinet

Dryer wallplug heats up

you may have aluminum wiring going from your fuse box to the wall plug (older house) .. if this is the case then you have to have a special wall plug that is approved for aluminum .. if you use a standard wall plug then you will get what you are seeing (it gets hot after a few years) .. the connections work loose and start to get hot .. if you have copper wire then you might also have either loose connections or the springs that make contact to the plug have lost tension .. make sure you turn off the circuit breaker before doing anything inside the wall plug box .. make sure water hasnt damaged things inside the box .. once the box has gotten hot the integrity of the spring contacts cant be trusted .. (they lose their spring force when they get hot) .. so no matter what kind of wiring you have you should replace the wall outlet .. if you have aluminum wire (white looking) then get an outlet that is aluminum certified .. if you have copper wire (orange color) then replace the outlet with one that has a rating of 20 amps .. that should fix your problem.

My Danby dryer dcd5505w hums but wont tumble. I opened it up and pushed it and it ran for a bit and stopped. I pushed it again and it ran for about 3 minutes before stopping. The motor is okay and so is...

the motor is most likely the cause. once it starts to hum, it's not spinning :( bad brushes inside. replace the motor or get new dryer, sorry :(

Maytag dryer

Replace the cord first. You won't be able to tell for sure unless it's replaced. Dryers pull so many amps and the dryer cord becomes hot while running it. The heat causes them to break down over time.

Dryer not drying

Check your lint filter. Put it under running water to see if the water goes through it. Chances are it is clogged up. Wash it and put it back. Should do the trick.
