Question about Canon imageCLASS MF4150 All-In-One Laser Printer

I have the SAME issue with my MF4100

It is getting old. I have to only print one page items and then it still hangs with the error you stated.
I really like the printer and sure would like to get it back up and running.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

It has somes spots on the side of the sheets and I cleaned the cartriges and the spots isn't gone.


A print quality defect in which pages contain random spots or splotches (click on the link to see sample http://bit.ly/mRX3qz) may occur after the replacement of a supply item or the clearing of a paper jam. If your printed output resembles the example shown, please do the following:

Print the Menu Settings page to check the levels of your consumable supplies (i.e. items such as toner cartridges and photoconductor units). Supplies that are at or near the end of their functional lives can cause various print quality issues independently of the operation of the printer.

If any of your other supplies are low, replace them to see if this resolves the issue. Instructions for replacing supplies can be found in the User's Guide.

It is always advisable to print the Print Quality Pages to get a detailed look at your printer's output. These pages allow each color plane to be viewed independently to determine if the issue is with one color (possibly due to a single supply item), or with all the colors (indicating a more general issue with the printer).

If the above checks show that everything is normal, the print quality issue is probably a temporary situation which sometimes follows supply replacement or paper jam removal. Printing 5-10 additional pages should allow the issue to clear up on its own.

Cannot get printer to either delete item in queueor print it it says is deleting but does nothing whe ni switch off system completely and then switch on again does test page .. then nothing


Deleting an item in the print queue often doesn't seem to work until the system is restarted. I've had this problem with both XP and Win7.
The test page sounds like you have requested it. Try just cancelling a document, then when it hangs in the print queue, restart the computer.
I've researched several "fixes" but am convinced it is a Microsoft problem that they need to fix.

The treadmill stops as soon as I step on it. It makes a loud noise and stops. Once I get off it starts to run again.


read in manual on 2nd page in grey area # 3, 4,7 IF THAT IS NOT THE ISSUE, then 2nd question, how old is item, from what you stated, if weight of user not issue and item is fairly new, sounds like mtr dr. belt slipping/loose. can be tightned up like belt on car-under the hood-but if under manufactures warranties, best call them first!!

Smeared print on paper


I was getting a similar blur/blob down one side of the paper (with no discernable print anywhere,) but after removing and emptying the toner collection bottle my printing returned to normal. I am still working on the size mismatch issue, which seems to be prevalent in the 2300DL population.

Ther are a few 3rd party solutions to this, the unix based gimp print will print to allmost any printer, do a googlesearch on gimp print

Printer FREEZES and prints blank pages


I DON'T THINK ITS THE PRINTER. THIS IS A SOFTWARE OR NETWORK ISSUE.

1 IT SOUNDS LIKE CORRUPTED FILES BEING SENT TO PRINTER, OFTEN PDFS. CLEARED ALL PRINT JOBS? ALSO AS400 PRINT QUEUE?
2 ALSO SOUNDS LIKE A VIRUS POSSIBLY "Adot.BAT". go online to housecall.com and do online virus scan.
3 OR, SOME OTHER CHANGE OR NEW DEVICE ON THE NETWORK MIGHT BE INTERFERING.

FIRST, TRY ISOLATING THE PRINTER FROM YOUR NETWORK. UNPLUG THE PRINTER FROM ALL DATA INPUTS AND RESTORE DEFAULTS. (LEFT OR RIGHT BUTTON TO SERVICE MENU, PUSH CHECK BUTTON, LEFT OR RIGHT TO RESTORE DEFAULTS, PUSH CHECK BUTTON).
IT SHOULD RESTART, THEN CALIBRATE. NEXT PRINT A CONFIGURATION PAGE FROM ITS MENUS, IF NOT TWO PAGES NET CARD IS DEAD.
IF OK SO FAR, TRY CONNECTING IT JUST TO A LAPTOP. USB ONLY THIS WAY, OR USE A NETWORK HUB, SEPARATE FROM YOUR NETWORK. INSTALL ANY OLD LASERJET DRIVER OR PRINTER ON THE LAPTOP JUST TO TEST IT.

IF ALL THIS WORKS, THE PRINTER IS FINE. BEFORE RECONNECTING THE PRINTER TO YOUR OFFICE COMPUTERS, FIX YOUR NETWORK & INTERNET OR VPN PROBLEMS.
THEN, DELETE ALL HP LASERJET PRINTERS & UNINSTALL ALL HP DRIVERS ON ALL NETWORKED COMPUTERS AND SERVER. (EXCEPT ZIPPED DOWNLOADED DRIVERS). START NEW HP PRINTER INSTALLATION COMPLETELY FROM ZERO. REINSTALL ONLY THE DRIVER YOU NEED. PCL5 IS RECOMMENDED.

Printing Issue - Lexmark T642


Chip on toner is bad, try puting in old one to reset and switch it with new one, sometimes turning off and on several times helps.
