The prtr starts, lcd only thing working. most probably is "wireless card" in unit is bad. u need a T8 torx to remove back cover, they are behind duplexer-assy... on main pcb (rear left looking into opening), a mess of cables there, but on top edge of board 2nd connector in, is wireless card connector. make sure unit is OFF while doing services. afterwards, turn it back on, it should cycle /initialize. AND WORK AGAIN

Connect the power cable directly into the wall outlet (no powerstrip or battery, etc.
Push th epower cord into the HP firmly (just in case).. and power ON.

If it starts, then Power OFF and reconnect to wherever you need it & go!

Hope this helps!

New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

OfficeJet 7410 wont boot up.

I would try resetting the power supply.
You can do this by unplugging the power adapter cable from the wall outlet.
Unplug the other end from the printer.
Unplug the power cable portion from the rectangular power adapter.
You should be left with a power cord, a power adapter, and a printer; All three are not plugged into anything. Leave it this way for 30 secs, then retry the turn-on process after plugging the cords back into where they belong. Also, try plugging straight into a wall outlet, and not into a surge protector.

If this is not working still, double check the outlet in question by testing it with an appliance like a hair dryer or lamp.

Good luck!

Do i need a power cord to operate the 7410

Hello,

The OfficeJet 7410 has a separate power cord and adapter (transformer) that has an output voltage of 31VDC @ 2420mA.

The original HP part number is 0950-4483 but they have a substitute part number of 0957-2145. It can be ordered from HP from this page:

HP Adapter 0957-2145

You may also be able to find one by either Googling the part numbers or if you have an eBay account search there. You may find a better deal.

Thanks for using Fixya. Please take a moment to rate this solution.

BTW, here is the main support page for your printer:

Printer wont power up

I found over 50 people online that had the same problem which appears to be a fatal software problem. One person had a partial fix which invoolved unpluging the cable to the wireless card and leaving it unpluged and using cable to connect printer to the network.
