It very difficult trying to explained to your what go wheres, your about the 5th person but different types of car seat having the same problems putting the strap back together correctly which I try to help. It would be a big safety issue for your child if someone gave you the wrong directions and you dont do it correctly and you think you did. I my self spend almost over an hours with mine when I undo mine to wash it, man what a pain. the best thing to do is to find the store that sell your type of car seats and take your car seat in with you and look at their display and copy it, trust me they wont mind. most of them will be fairly close and the same but you will get an idea. when you do get it back on, take a pictures and also have a friend watch you also, two eyes better than one, undo it and practice couple times eventually you wont have a problems next time.

The car seat does not install properly - it is flopping around in the back seat and does not secure

Hi Linda

We would strongly advise you to take the vehicle to your nearest authorised Safety 1st retailer and ask for a carseat fitter trained member of staff to provide a physical fitting of the seat to confirm that it can be safely secured and used in your vehicle and to demonstrate to you how to correctly fit it.

How do you put the straps back on the safety 1st car seat model 22323 bvl

My model is a 22323-bvl and this is how to restrap: the strap goes from the front bottom up the back and through which ever hole your child is fitting into, then you put on the chest harness and then the locking clips at the crotch and then you feed the straps through the holes on the seat inside bottom through to the back and then put the metal clips back on and clip into place.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions just ask:)

I am trying to remove the infant insert. Reference is made to a "splitter", but we can't find one on the back of the car seat where it is supposed to be.

Wow, brings back memories! The splitter is the strange metal piece on the back of the car seat with straps attached to it. See page 9 of your user manual for a picture OR a manual for the 2008 (& newer) model can be downloaded at this link: http://www.safety1st.com/usa/eng/DJGFiles/ProductDocuments/43583340D.pdf

Enjoy that sweet baby! They really do grow up way too fast!

How do I rasie the back inside so the shoulder straps move up?

You squeeze the red handles at the top of the car seat and lift them up or push them down to whatever height you want. They're connected to a bar in the back of the car seat that moves out and goes in to slots.
