To be honest they can be removed, but the how drastically depends on what trojan you have been infected with. if you can post what you are infected with this would greatly help me to help you. With some Trojans they will modify / erase certain system files that are necessary for normal system operations. IF this is what has happened you will have to use your system recovery disk to reset your system. this will reformat your system, but will fix your problem. of course this is a last resort.

DIf you have access to another PC you could download malwarebytes from here (free version).

http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&tag=button

Save it to a flash drive and install it on your Laptop run a full scan. Thespyware is merely a nusance and wouldn't stop you connecting it's the trojan that is the problem. Malwarebytes will cure both.

It is not a replacement for antivirus software but an aid.It may not clear it fully but should allow you to get online again. If it does immediately go here and do an online scan.

Trojan.Win32.Dialer removal tool

If you havent already got AntiVirus software that includes SpyWare/Malware removal, try downloading and running a free Spyware remover.

I use SpyBot SD. It's free and works well.

Google it for the web address.

GENERIC TROJAN

Go to download.com and pick out your free AV/Anti-spyware software of choice. Or go to symantec.com to download a time-limited trial version of Norton AntiVirus 2009 to install and run on your system. For removal instructions, we need to know exactly what piece of malware you have.

HP pavilion 8275 w\win2000 want all old info. off

System restores don't work too well. The virus/trojan has usually embedded itself beyond the restore, you're free to try it, however. If it doesn't work, I would suggest some anti-virus/spyware scanning software. Here are two, one for viruses/vulnerabilities/some spyware and one dedicated to spyware. Both are absolutely free. http://housecall.trendmicro.com runs from your web browser (I would suggest using Internet Explorer). http://www.download.com/3405-8022-5153545.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5 This is Ad-aware, it will remove the spyware on your computer. This one needs to be downloaded. If those do not work, then you have two choices: reformat the HDD (low-level format in some cases), or take it to a professional who can save your data and remove the trojan successfully. Additionally, you can try Googling the trojan by its name and you'll usually find removal instructions. Symantec and Microsoft have the most accurate methods.
