    1) Do you have a previous version of Norton Anti-virus installed?

    2) Were u able to remove any previous Norton or Symantec products installed?

Error 1706 (according to Symantec) is a standard installation error message that covers several possibilities.

They are the manual instructions but Symantec to have an automatic removal tool floating around. put the CD back in the drive (or get access to it from it's directory or whatever) then repair it as follows:

C:\> msiexec /i "D:\SAV\Symantec AntiVirus.msi"

let it go through it's dog&pony show then when it's done, uninstall it properley:

C:\> msiexec /x "D:\SAV\Symantec AntiVirus.msi" or

Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility package from:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe

Install and run. Remove the offending Symantec Install Package from the list. Wella.

Dear sir, when i login my laptop symantec anti virus scan don't scan and shows not responding,,,,please tell me the solution

Hi,
These types of problems occurs if the Symantec Antivirus is corrupted or missing. The only way to fix the issue is to uninstall and reinstall the program again. But before uninstalling the program you have to make sure that you have your product key and the installer handy for the reinstallation. You need to download the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall the Symantec properly.

Thank you for using Fixya. you hig recommendatino is highly appreciated.

I have two error messages that I do not know how to fix.. system32/suvibumi.dll and system32/detuwofi.dll Can someone tell me what I need to do? Please help!!!

Hello,

The 2 files you are asking about are trojan virus files. You need to install a good anti-virus program and do a complete PC scan. A good one to use is from pctools, it is called spyware doctor with antivirus. You can get it online at www.pctools.com

Download and run the removal tool found here
Reboot and re-install the anti-virus program. If your subscription has expired we can recommend a very good free anti-virus program.

On the odd chance that you are not in a Corporation (where they require you to use that product) Avast and AVG (both free for home use) might be a better solution....just a thought...will let mansnes pursue with you...Tango

DLL error

Please follow the instructions here.

If that doesn't work you can do one of the following:

1. Remove the ms07-017 update (
Microsoft Update Security Update K925902) at Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

2. Remove
BricoPack Vista Inspirat (if you have it installed) at Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

i think you have a damage/corrupted anti-virus dll (navprod.dll) norton anti-virus.

if you cannot enter your OS normaly try entering via safemode....and uninstall your norton anti-virus.

let me know if this fixed it.
