Open Question

Lakewood window fan 7 position switch.

First try the following link for switch.

I need a wiring diagram to tell which wires go to which connections on the switch. Did not write them down before taking switch off. Also you might try the following link also:

you will have to contact their local rep.

SOURCE: need to replace the switch that has ,hi,low, med off on nit? please Help

you have 3 control wires (the 3 speeds) and a common wire. the common wire will go directly from the fan motor to the power source/cord and the other 3 leads will run through the switch. you could even use a standard dimmer-style lighting rheostat and connect it to the common and "high" fan speed wire and have infinitely variable fan speeds. hope that helps.

Switch broken

May not be identical but an appliance store or hardware store should be able to assist you with that. Home depot or Lowes as well. Take old one with you if you can.

Lakewood heater 792 will not work

The bottom switch is bad. Unplug bottom wires and touch them together, if heat and fan comes on your switch is bad.

No power getting to my Lakewood fan...

Maybe you tripped over it so hard you de soldered the wires form the inside. Have you openned it? Try it out if you didn't. Check the power cord and follow it all the way into the motor (with the motor openned). Check if one or both cables on the inside are desoldered.

Lakewood HV-18 fan... how to wire switch?

My switch unit also fell apart as I took the back off and I didn't get to see the correct position of the switch. After much trial and error, I found this to be the initial "Off" position (see photo)

Window Fan switch bad

Steve, Your fan model is HV-18-WR; I have 2 with the same problem. I can't find a source for DYE-3606 switches either. Here is one source for rotary switches; one might be suitable: http://www.alliedelec.com/Catalog/Indices/Products.asp?sid=46BBAA8076DBE17F&N=4294828748 I can draw a diagram of how the existing switch is connected, but I don't know how that would translate to a replacement switch.
