Question about Canon imageCLASS D880 All-In-One Laser Printer

Open Question

Canon Imageclass d860 ADF feeder doesn't pull document through the feeder after a jam. When I clean the ADF roller, the roller doesn't turn 1/3 as the manual suggests it should. I can't find a service manual/info to figure out if there is a part that needs to be replaced.

Note: The document may not feed properly depending on the media type, or your environment, such as when the temperature and humidity are either too high or too low.
In this case, reduce the number of document pages to approximately half of the loading capacity. Another alternative is to scan from the platen glass

The hopper on top keeps jamming on D860!

If you are having jams in the Document Feeder, you should change the common rollers first.

Change these ones: FC5-0009 and FM2-0015
They're easy

What to do window says check document open ADF?

That means: open adf cover ( auto original feeder ) and remove jamed paper.
Probably adf needs some maintenance, clean rollers.

Roller marks on copies. I ran the cleaning menu and it asks me to open the ADF to clean the rollers.. How do you do that and where is it.

The adf is the automatic document feeder and its located on top of the machine. use a clothe with 409, simple green or water and look in where you put your copies to be copied. You will see 2 grey rollers. wipe them off. NO alcohol Also are the marks on the docs you are running through the adf or comming out of the copier. Steven 818-888-0006

Canon Imageclass D880 automatic document feeder problems

Hi,

Clean the ADF rollers and pad with alcohol.

Check to see if your ADF has done over 90 000 copies and if it has, change the ADF pick up assembly only.

Good Luck

Hello himsmyboy!

Sikna says

The ADF separation pad is the cause. To remove it lift the cover fully up then use a knife to get under the black tape tab at the top right of the large white foam pad. Pull the tape and the white foam pad loose but not completely - leave the bottom attached. Now you can see the ADF separation pad from below. Use a small screwdriver or spring hook to remove the spring and you will be able to wiggle the ADF separation pad out. First take a good look at how it fits in so you can put it back! The problem is caused by the small black foam pad under the white rubbery tape on the ADF pad assembly. I carefully removed the tape from the back edge to expose the compressed black foam pad. I then cut a matching size of 1/16" foam I had in my shop which was actually HP 98A doctor blade seal foam and just stuck it on top of the old compressed foam. (other similar foam should also work) Then I replaced the white rubbery tape and rubbed the edge down well. I then reinstalled the restored ADF pad and the spring which holds it. Last I just pressed the large white foam pad back into position - being sure to pull it with a slight tension as I pressed into place. This fixed the ADF feed and it worked like new again...
