Question about Snom 320 IP Phone

1 Answer

The display on my Snom 320 doesn't work? The phone's lights also don't work, but the buttons and functions do work. Is the phone broken? This is a brand new phone, just out of the box.

Do you have the power brick hooked up to it? If so, try another one if possible as it could be the defective component.

If you're using POE to power it, make sure you have pluggd into a POE port for sure.

If you still have problems after this, then you need to return it for replacement unit.

How do I get the phone to ring when a guest calls. We can make out calls but when people ring in they get a message only to leave a message?

Make sure the DND (Do Not Disturb) feature is not activated. If it is, the icon next to your name in the display changes from a phone to a minus sign and your phone won't ring. If that doesn't fix it, please provide more information - what type of PBX or hosted PBX is the phone connecting to.

Default snom 360

Maybe you have to install a "recovery" OS on the phone. You get it from the snom-website, but you have to use a TFTP-server on your PC. When you boot the phone, the display says something like "TFTP bootoing....press any key". Then you enter the IP-adrwess of your TFTP-server and some other information and the OS will be loaded to the phone. If you get this working, everything is set to factory default and you can update the OS to the latest version. All passwords are set to default-values (or empty - I do not remember now)
This sounds more complicated than it is :-)

I have a snom 320 dialling out takes long time for connection

I guess this is a SIP phone , try dialling the number then add # at the end, a SIP phone does not know when you have finished dialling unlike a landline so # complets the dialling for you

I have a snom 370 voip phone with the plantronics cs70 headset but there's a bad echo on the callers end so i got the snom wireless headset adapter but i don't know how to connect it. i also have...

We've never dealt with snom wireless adapter but the CS70 and HL10 lifter is a popular set for your phone. there are a couple of things you can try to cut down on the echo.
1. Make sure CS70 is proper distance from phone, minimum of 6" (12" from a PC)
2. Make sure round compatibility dial (located on left side of base) is set correctly. Most phones work on setting #1 (never between numbers)
3. Echoing is usually caused by an improper mix of incoming and outgoing volume. With a friend listening in you can make broad and minor adjustments for both (incoming: back of base (1-4) and +/- on headset; outgoing: bottom of base (a-d) and +/- arrows on back of base).
Following these steps should help you out.

Good luck from Headsets Direct - 800-914-7996.

Snom 300

this is not a solution - we have the same problem too.
have about 70 snoms here and sometimes the display shows only black boxes. a reboot helps then mostly for a while.
telephones are connected by poe or voltage adapter.
never had over voltage and i can't remember on power outages.
