Check to see if your cable is firmly conected to your computer if it is then use the screen to open its menue and check your color settings. If you can manualy make the screen better it may have failed you. Time for a new one.

Part of the control circuit for the screen semiconductors is not working - probably best to replace the screen, as repairs likely to be impossible.

SOURCE: Monitor red tint not functional.

Unplug the monitor cable from the computer and look into the cable where the metal connector are at. Everytime I've had a problem with one color not showing on the monitor, there has been a bent or flattened pin on the connector. Those pins can be bent out but be VERY carefull, they can break very easily.

Good luck!

SOURCE: my display has a red tint to it

Try adjusting the color properties of the monitor using the controls located on the front of the monitor.
If you can't correct the color, then it's a problem in the color circuit. As an ex tv repair guy I can tell you it may cost more than the monitor is worth to fix it unless it's still under warranty.

My hp pavillion dv7 1245dx screen has a red tint in the background?

Your lcd screen is bad. It's either the lcd screen or the video card inside the computer, but most likely the screen. You can isolate the problem by connecting an external monitor to the computer. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor displays ok without the read and green tint then your video card inside the computer is good but your lcd screen is bad. If the Borrowed monitor displays the same red and green tint then the video card inside the computer is bad.

It can be any kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vga cable to connect to your computer's vga port. If so that proves your video card is ok. The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

Red screen on E152fpc monitor

Hello,

A red or pink tint on LCD monitor indicates that the CFL backlight bulbs are failing. These are just like the florescent bulbs you use at home and the office but much smaller. When they are about the fail they will have a red tint to the light instead of white. They can be replaced but on a 15" LCD its not worth the price and trouble to do it. The bulbs will run about $35 and then about 1 hour to install if you know what you are doing. It would be better for you to get a replacement monitor.

Is the color filter going out?sometimes i have a red screen

The most common cause of a red or pnik tint to the picture is a weak or failing backlight tube. LCD monitors use very small florescent tubes to provide the backlight and when they start to go out the output red or pink tinted light not white. You can replace the bulbes but in most cases it is not worth the trouble. You should chack the date on the back of the monitor, if it is less than 3 years old then contact Samsung for a warranty repair, if older than 3 years then get a new monitor.

My screen has gone to a blue tint. What is the life expectancy for a screen?

Blue tint (Red tint, or Green tint) is more likely due to one of the pin on the VGA cable is bent ot the cable is not seated properly of the the video card conectors may be the problem. Try it with another PC and check the pins.
LCD monitors usually fail after about two years due to bad caps.

Red tint on Viewsonic P930b

Hello,

We do a lot of LCD monitor repairs and usually when you get the red tinted display it means the backlight tube is going out. This part is like a very small fluorescent tube just like in you office lamps. The tube is part of the display section and is very hard to replace. You can check the power supply first just to be sure. We have a dis-assembly/repair guide on our web site at: www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm If you find any bad capacitors you can change them and check but I would be it is the backlight tubes, if so just replace the monitor.

Monitor Showing to much red

Hi,
Is it possible that your PC or Monitor is just showing more red tones? Have you checked a WHITE background like a blank webpage? Does it have a red tint too?
Do you possibly have speakers or an external fan near your computer or your monitor? If so they sometimes have magnets that will interfere with your screen.
Another thing you might want to check is to unplug the monitor cable that attaches to the computer and check and see if any of the PINS in the plug are bent.
Please let me know how this works out for you.
Thanks,
Kaj

Make sure your VGA cable is seated properly. If it is seated OK, it could be the start of a problem with a backlight. When a backlight goes bad, it typically shows up as pink/red color where white should be displayed.
