I have a Samsung CLX 3160 Laser printer that has uneven printing of Black print only. It prints other colors properly, so it is likely the black laser cartridge feeder port that is partially clogged up,...

If your printer prints like this with faded or uneven print,

slamfix_20.jpg The problem is with the developer in the imaging unit. The problem can be fixed by either replacing the imaging unit for $100+ or you can fix it yourself by cleaning the imaging unit. You will need simple hand tools and if you are careful restore the print quality of your printer. I have a link to instructions that should help you http://www.fixya.com/support/r4120906-clean_developer_blades_samsung_clp_300 Hope this helps you.

I have a samsung clx-3160 fn printer, approx 1.5 yrs old. Has worked well, however now the right side of each page is slightly faded compared to the left side. I have cleaned out what I can and replaced...

I'm not sure if it is a similar problem but I have a CLX-3170FN and it has started to run a strange line down the page, and part of the page was smudged. I cleaned it all out and looked at the drum etc and it was all fine. Then I spotted there is a plastic belt that must run like a conveyor belt behind the drum and there is a split running along it - Found out it is called the transfer belt. It was difficult to see which I why I am suggesting it to you. Now I just have to find how I can replace mine. :)

Go to printer properties and check whether you have selected print in grey mode and also check whether you have selected the economic mode. Rectify the same will solve your problem.

Printing in black is not the same shade through out the paper

This is a very common problem with the Samsung CLP 300 and CLX 3160 printers. What happens is that the toner or developer blades become coated with toner. The developer blades meter the amount of toner that the printer uses to make the image on the paper. When the blade become blocked, the image become faint. To fix this problem, you and either replace the imaging unit for about $100 or you can clean the blades yourself. I have posted instructions how to clean them on my Tips section.

My samsung clx-3160 colour laser printer does not print very well.all prints are barely neglible and now most times no print or characters appear.I have installed new ink cartridges. Please advise.

If the problem is only with Black output you need to change the Black developer of the Imaging Unit, Else you need to refer to the Authorised Service center. Else you may change the complete imaging unit by yourself.

Black ink looks faded!

Providing that the ink cartridges were new and supplied with the printer, the cartridge is defective. I also don't think that you used up all the ink either unless you printed hundreds of documents already. Take the cartridge back to the store where you got the printer from and they should give you a new one.
