I see RCA no longer has any manuals for that unit. But, is this the exact model number? I mean like I have an RCA DRC8335 VCR/DVD recorder, so I am wondering if it is similar? If so I could work out something for you. Email me at [email protected] if you think I can help with my manual.
Gary. The DRC8335 User Manual is no longer available on Thompson's official support site. But fortunately a few of us downloaded it a year or more ago before it was pulled!
I tried uploading the manual to Fixya several times including just a short while ago. It seemed to upload successfully, but after performing a Fixya search it's still nowhere to be found, just like many others I've uploaded in the past.
But don't worry! You can download it NOW from my personal User and Service Manual archive on OwnerIQ using the hotlink below.
OwnerIQ encrypts all filenames within our personal folders for security purposes which ends-up making them rather unreadable. For this reason, please rename it back to my original filename appearing in blue in the hotlink just below when the download completes
Or should I say Steve Warren of Enfiield Ct? It's good that you can't fix your vcr. We wouldn't want you graduating from soliciting kids online for sex to watching child porn now would we?
Enjoy your time with bubba!

P.S. Aren't you NOT supposed to be on the internet?
If you do not finalize the disc then you can not play it back. Go back to your instruction manual and look under 'setting options'. There should be a choice to 'finalize disc before ejecting'. The recorder will not finalize a disc until it knows when you are done recording, so you have to tell it somehow.
if you have an s video out as well as audio out on your laptop connect it to svideo and corrasponding audio input on dvd recorder. hook up recorder to a TV to see the movie your transfering then press record on drc that should be good luck
