Are you referring to the dryer timer module, or the drum itself?

Ok but is it making any kind of noise? If it is making a noise then you will need to possibly replace the belt. call your authorize technician to replace the belt and they can also check and clean you lint traps and the insed of the unit.

LG dryer doesn't dry clothes on one cycle. Lint collects around bottom of door rubber seal. Have noticed, the door is not closed tight. How to get door to stay closed tightly?

It sounds like you have a plugged up vent causing air to try to blow out around door instead of out vent. Also check door latch to see if anything is broken.

Element turns on even if door is open. at end of drying cycle drum shuts down but element stays hot

Your problem is usually caused by a bad/broken heating element. What happened is the element broke or burned apart at some point and the broken end has grounded against the dryer body. Instead of the power going through the control system and shutting off the heater, the power is going through the broken part of the heater and then to the dryer body with no shut off point like a direct circuit. Probably needs heater replaced. Could also be one of the controls stuck but usually the 1st problem I stated..

Cooling light stays on during dry cycle. no heat is to dry clothes. I've switched the circut breaker numerous times and unplugged the unit many times also to "reset" . What's next..

Try a timed dry cycle instead of an automatic cycle. If that works, then you will need to clean off the moisture detection bars inside the dryer to get the auto cycle to work again. Look for two curved metal bars, about 3/16 inch wide and 4 inches long, about an inch apart, located just inside the front of the dryer, near the right side of the lint filter. (you'll have to stick your head in the dryer drum to see them) Often times, use of dryer sheets will result in a waxy coating forming on these bars, preventing the dryer from detecting the moisture in the clothes. The dryer sees no moisture, it goes into the cool down mode and then stops. Clean the bars off, and you should be back in the laundry business.

Could be a coil...but I have learned that it usually is the ignitor...

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

Roper brand electric dryer will not stay hot

Sounds like it may be short cycling on the Hi Limit instead of the operating thermostat. Only way to be sure is to measure the temp inside the drum while operating with a load. Another way is to measure the voltage across the Hi Limit and it should always be zero. Lots of juice (240VAC) back there and safety is paramount.

THE ELEMENT CYCLES. NO IT DOESN'T STAY ON THE WHOLE TIME, BUT IT SHOULD BE ON FOR MORE THAN A BRIEF SECONDS TOO. POST ME THE MODEL NUMBER FOUND SOMWHERE AROUND THE DOOR AND I'LL HELP FURTHER. THERE ARE THERMOSTAT/S HIGH-LIMIT SHUT OFF SWITCHES AND IF THEY ARE NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY IT WILL CAUSE DRYING TIME PROBLEMS
