Dear inarimi:
The iPod was not designed to sync with Windows Media Player; it only syncs with Apple's iTunes software. iTunes is a free program and can be downloaded from Apple's website. As you can imagine, Apple has no real reason to support Windows Media Player - their hardware is designed to work with their software.
There is only one solution I know of for those who prefer Windows Media Player to iTunes. A German company - MGTEK - has come up with a plug-in that allows the iPod to sync with Windows Media Player. The plug-in is not free, but you can try it out for 30 days at no charge. For details and download link, go to

When the iTunes symbol & the USB cord are on the screen, that means you must sync the iPod to your iTunes library on your computer.

  2. Plug iPod Touch into your computers USB port

Open up itunes, plug your ipod in and wait for it to say finish syncing. Then click on the photos tab.  Check the box that says sync photos from.  Choose what folder you want to sync from.  Click the circle that says all photos.  Then click sync at the bottom of the screen.

Ipod mini syncing

I am having great success with a Dynex brand usb cord on this model. Is your computer running Windows Vista by any chance? You may need an extar driver from Apple's website if this is the case.
