Question about Motorola Televison & Video
I have a Motorola DCH3200 cable box. During the past few weeks, the sound and/or video has intermittently started to cut out. There doesn't seem to be a pattern, one day it will do it every 5 minutes, another day it won't do it at all.
Sometimes the sound stops, then comes back. Sometimes the sound stops, and a moment later the screen goes black. When the video goes out, the screen will stay black for minutes or sometimes hours, if I leave it.
Changing the channel restores both audio and video.
Sounds like your SNR is getting too high and causing the signal to overload. A few things can cause this a bad splitter that causes the signal to bleed and introduces noise, or a more common issue is having a weak signal coming from the cable provider and once it goes through a splitter it causes the signal to become to weak to be stable.
Since it sounds like your cable has been working up until recently, you may have had a cable or splitter go bad.
Call comcast and have a technician come out and test the line.
