Hi minhvantran2. The first step is to click your wireless button. It doesn’t look like a button, but it is. It’s a little touch light that looks like a satellite dish, located just above your Num Lock key. Make sure it’s set to Wireless Lan enabled (should flash on the screen when you press it). If it lights up, problem solved. If it reads enabled, but doesn’t light up, then you’ve got just a couple more steps.
1) Go to Control Panel
2) Check to see that you are in “Control Panel Home” and not “Classic View”
3) Click on Network and Internet
4) Click on Network and Sharing Center
5) In the left column (small print) click on “Manage network connections”
6) Now look for your wireless connection.
To enable wireless:
1) Right click on your wireless connection
2) Click on Disable
3) A window will appear saying "Windows needs your permission". Click continue.
You should now see a pop up telling you to turn on wireless. Click on that pop up and it will "repair" the connection. This should solve your problem. Hope this helps!

Make sure the drivers for the wireless card are installed and also that the wireless switch is turned on.

Those are the two main things to check, are you able to look for networks or is the wireless completely unavailable?

If its completely unavailable it might be disabled or the drivers are missing. to check this, right click on your my computer or computer, which you will find from either your desktop or from start menu.

Select Manage.

On the computer management window on the left side click on device manager, look for any devices with a RED X or a yellow ? mark.

Also look under the network adapters, what do you see there?

I had a problem with this as well with a similar acer aspire model. Mine was defective: the connector inside was faulty. Returned under warranty and got it fixed! Now it doesn't do that anymore.

I have somehow disabled the wireless capability. do you know the function key combination to enable it?

check on the edges of your laptop, there might be a slide switch to enable wireless connection.
set up a wireless connection by plugging in first the network cable.
select wireless or wlan connection
follow the process
reset your router
restart your computer
enjoy wireless networking

Wireless lan will not enable

Hello,
there should be a button right under the screen, right above the keyboard that looks somewhat like a thumbnail, when you press it, it should turn orange telling you it is on.

Thanks

Wireless switch is off?

Yes, it can be a switch on the side of the laptop, a button above the keyboard, or a key combination (usually Fn + some function key) - it will have a wireless symbol on top of it.

Aspire 6930 wireless button not working

Without any wireless networks available, using your computer wirelessly is most pointless. If you want to set up a wireless access point in your home you need a wireless router, connected to Internet.
