That seems like too long at most delays and lock outs that are built into a system throught the tstat and the outdoor systems defrost board should only take about ten minutes. at most twenty if you had a dual fuel system. (heat pump outside and gas furnace inside). check the installer programming on your tstat may have a compressor lock out set too long for some reason.that or possible bad lowvoltage connections or maybe ants in you contacts at compressor outside. could be many things

My ac is running but its not cooling off the house.or its just not kicking in right away..what to do?

mcdevito75 Here, Try this, turn the a/c off completely and un-plug from the wall outlet for 5 minutes. Plug back in the wall and just put the a/c fan on for 5 minutes, then turn the control that says cool slowly to it's coolest positon and see if the compressor will kick in, if it doesn't you may need a charge of freon, if the compressor does kick in slowly back off the cool control to where the compressor just turns off. Contact any a/c repair shop in your area they come to the house.

My LG LWHD2500ER problem??

The compressor has an overload. Your description sounds like it is cycling. It may be a faulty overload, but typically that is a symptomof a compressor or refrigerant charge problem. Typically not worthy repairing on a window unit.

the compressor should turn on the low pressure switch is usually located on the accumulator canister (SILVERY CANISTER) near the firewall.

Sounds like the compressor, starting capacitor has failed, you will need a repairman to check it out, i'm not sure if your models capacitor can be replaced seperately or if you need the whole compressor replaced. Good luck !

Carrier air conditioner cycles on and off

The compressor/condenser is being called all the time. The reason it goes off is because the evaporator (indoors) freezes up when the fan is told to turn off by the thermostat. This further cooling lowers the low side pressure below the low limit switch point turning off the compressor unit.
Solution: Make sure the thermostat is wired correctly. Green wire is usually the compressor wire but maybe not.

Compressor cutting out about every 30 to 45 sec

The clicking sound is a relay called PTC relay. You need to replace it. First be sure to unplug frig. Remove the cardboard cover that covers most backs of the frig units. Remove the plastic cover that is on the side of compressor. It is held on with a metal clip. Now you should be able to see the relay pry the relay straight off. note the wiring and position of relay. Only three prongs on compressor. Go to a parts house for appliance's and with your make and model number should be able to get a new one. Let me know if you need any more help. ken
