Question about Televison & Video
There doesn't seem to be a code for this player.
But what you can do if you have a computer a dvd burner on it, you can rip the protected DVD into your computer and remove the protection from it, then burn the unprotected movie into another DVD without a region code and the movie will play on your DVD player.
http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/ You can also watch the movie on your computer having removed the region code from it.
Then you can burn it to a new disk, this free burning program can do it - http://cdburnerxp.se/

Try this following hack it works on the 300 series but should work on your 229 too...
Power up, no disk in. Status says READ then INSERT DISC.
Press MENU (status reads invalid key icon)
Press 1 (status reads invalid key icon)
Press 9 Menu is displayed.
(make sure to hit menu 1 9 fast)
Press ENTER on the region, digit turns to "-"
Press ENTER again
Press EJECT to clear the special menu.
The 0 region means play all.
Try it and let me know if it works !
