Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
When copying you are using the internal components to get the image and to print it. In the case of printing from the Mac or even a PC you have to send that job to the same printer components as the copier uses to print with but through an input channel (USB I imagine on this machine). Before you decide that the printer itself is at fault you need to insure the things connected to it are OK. Get a different cable, new preferably, and try. USB cables are prone to damage internally yet not show damage externally. Also delete the setup on the Mac and reload the most current driver software for your printer and retry. You might also try to connect the printer to another machine, PC or Mac, with the current drivers. If all else fails then the board internally that has the USB connection on it has gone bad. Could be as simple as a bad electrolytic capacitor (see capacitor plague on wikipedia for what to look for) or just a failed chip which means replacement of the board. Never assume the machine itself is bad before you check the things outside the machine that send it information for the print job. Same scenario for parallel, serial and ethernet connected printers.
