EBay has power adapters for all kinds of laptops. Best prices I've found anywhere. Have purchased several for myself and other clients.

You'll pay to much are retailers for the same quality. Don't do that.

Just do a search on eBay for your computer and you will find a listing of all adapters that apply to your system.

Well it could be one of two problem (1) if your computer is not charging up then the adapter might be bad, but try testing it on a friend computer to see if it work in their.(2) it your computer does come work when you plug in the adapter it might be a kill switch with mean the motherboard is death so when you plug it in it chips the adapter out

Power won't charge

If the power adapter is functional and the computer is running well with the adapter plugged into the wall; then the power cell has died. Most of the batteries have 6 cells inside and only one cell shorts and the entire battery will fail to work or take a charge.

My hp compaq 6910p laptop not on adapter is ok **** i plug in laptop no power on no any light on

Unplug adapter using cheap multimeter, check for voltage on the Plug the goes to laptop.. the plug should be producing 13+ volts ( not sure exactly of Spec, but it is located on the power pack itself. )

Your problem sounds to me like your power supply is shorting out .

Alternative problem is the charge circuit on the mainboard may need to be serviced. ( commonly replacing mainboard- some facilites can repair )

Accidently tried to change one of the ink cartridges while the printer was off. Now the printer won't turn on. It's a HP Photosmart C5280 all in one. Thanks

Removing/loading the cartridge are not related to powering section, check adapter voltage if its ok observe any spark generating while inserting the adapter pin in the printer socket if yes there is short in logic card, replace the logic(formatter) card..* very very rare cases if cartridge got short it will damage the logic card, result printer goes in dead condition.

HP Pavilion zv6000 power issue. My laptop fan kicks into high gear whenever the adapter is plugged in. Frequently it suddenly shuts off completely to keep itself from overheating. If I use battery-only...

the PC needs to be cleaned, every year or it will overheat.
lint packs up.
what is the ADAPTeR, we cant guess them. ever.

aH the AC power pack is the ADAPTER?

i bet the battery goes dead with no adapter right
so the acid test is this
no battery run on the adapter
if that fails, the adapte is wrong or dead. or weak
1: wrong size 65w or 100w. less never.
2: wrong voltage ,19vdc is correct for HP. not 12,
3: the jack on the mobo for 19v is cracked ,common on some

i never buy PC with this part , I buy Elitebooks that cure that horror.
what happens is you flex cable.
and the jack flexes and then the solder joint crack
all do, its one bad horror. (mine uses a anti crack flex cable inside)

The DC Jack Will Need To Be Visibly Inspected, and Tested ..
Most Likely Need To Replace The DC Jack (the port where your AC Adapter Plug Plugs into.....

Though, if you experienced a power surge/dip or similar, You could have shorted out the motherboard....

My hp pavilion dv2500 will not turn on at all. I can plug up the ac adapter and the blue light surrounding it comes on but it will not come on when I push the power button.

A fast check to determine whether you have a problem with the power adapter, power cord or the laptop's battery is to turn off the laptop, remove the battery, connect the power adapter, turn on the laptop & see if it works.
If the laptop works directly from the power adapter with the battery removed, then the power adapter is good. In this case we can suspect that the battery is defective.

Another possibility would be that there is a short circuit somewhere in the power circuitry on the motherboard.

Blank screen on the HP tx1000

I hear your complaint, but you haven't discribed the problem.

When you plug in the power adapter and press on the power button, there is no signs of life at all. The laptop will not make usual noises, LEDs will not light up, the fan will not spin, the screen is blank and black, etc… In short, the laptop is dead.

What you can do in this case?
1. Make sure the wall outlet is working and the laptop DC adapter is getting power from the outlet. Try another wall outlet.
2. Test the laptop DC power adapter, make sure the voltage output is correct. You can test the DC power adapter with a voltmeter.
3. Let’s say the DC adapter is fine and the adapter outputs correct voltage. In this case unplug the power adapter from the laptop, remove the battery, wait for 1-2 minutes, plug in the adapter and try turning on the laptop again.

These are the first steps to take to get to the root of the problem.
